What are the actual odds that dexxers will ever be useful in PvP?

    I know, I know....

I love the 31ar my mage bard gets from the stuff in PVE, but I also roll out in just cloth as well.... it just feels WRONG for a magic user to be wearing anything but cloth...

Studded and Plate are the hardest to craft. I use Studded on my pure dexxer... Plate I only wear for show

Studded is effectively crap because chain and ring have no dex penalty now and beyond that bone is better than them all, sadly.
Plate is good in invuln form, when you're in CTF fighting dexxers, but otherwise the dex loss makes it even harder to balance for MB.

I haven't checked the weight but there could be some benefit to studded being lighter, if you're packing yourself to the hilt.

As much as I fancy the idea of AoS type material buffs for armors and even weapons, I don't think it's right here and never should be added. The only change I'd really want to see in armor is AR normalization, as I've posted threads about. As it stands, all sub-par crafted armor is for BoDs only and it's lame. I'd more likely rock spined suits over barbed any day of the week and love my verite suits, despite them having crappier AR.

i think armours crafted in different tiers of a material should still give the same AR rating as the base material with other bonuses.

like has been mentioned - barbed AR gives some fire resist but the AR would be the same as normal, etc etc.

it would give people a reason to mix and match their suits to suit what or who they are trying to fight and also make magic items worth something again if you wanted the straight AR increase.

right now - apart from the dex loss do mages have any negative effects from wearing heavy armour? it might not be "the era" but everyone keeps saying how OP magery is.... if you werent able to wear the same armour as a dexxer maybe things would be different?

    gotcha.

i dont have any mages so i wasnt sure of any negatives.

in my opinion - a naked mage should be more powerful than one in leather. it should be a trade off of ultimate power vs moderate protection.

    edit -

or a slower cast time for mages in armour.
