"When the Tyrant Lord of OoO wields the Verite Gauntlets, and the Wizard Grey is fallen 'neath purple glimmering steed, then commeth the Age of Shadows." - Prophecy ordained from the third counsel of eldar mystics from the league of shadows
My motivation to read this thread was easily defeated by the 7 pages of text.. so I'm just gonna throw out my idea. I think it would be cool if Order/Chaos was only open to melee classes to include archers (a.k.a. exclude mages.) Now I'm not sure how this mechanic would be possible in game - maybe require the character to have a certain number of points in related skill fields or not allow any points in magery? I dunno. But I do know it would be fun as shit (at least for me) to pvp against something other than a mage. It would create a more even playing field for those who enjoy warrior/archer classes and for those who don't, factions, dueling, and pk'ing would still exist. Thoughts? P.S.- It would give the orcs someone fun to fight too!
This is genius! I wonder if this could be like an npc guild function and the guildmaster can only be found in a magery free zone, and if you gain more than 15 magery you're ejected
This is something that is completely do-able by motivated players though. Make two guilds, require characters in both guilds to be public, and you can ensure via website that they have appropriate skills. Each guild would have to police themselves, I guess.
Sounds like a fantastic concept to really bring O/C to life. Clearly there's ways to exclude based on skill levels, hence the entrance to Wind. I think it would be decent to have some mid-range magery levels for support spells, etc. Not sure how bad this will piss of the synch-dumpers in O/C now though.
O/C=no magery and no mounts? Sounds fun. (I added the no mounts, of course) either way it is a cool idea.
Not a bad idea, but it wouldn't work well for people like me who have very limited and interrupted game time
No mounts, order/chaos would be fun. I've played chaos for a long time, there was always a problem with blue healers.
I don't think dumbing down O/C to basically just warriors, outside of a mage's few support spells is going to do jack shit, and well jack has left town. These half baked thoughts are just that, half baked. I haven't really seen much O/C though this doesn't directly effect me, mages shouldn't be ruled out of the mixture.
