New - 1 - Casting Explosion on a grey character does not instantly refresh the criminal flag timer. That doesn't happen until the Explosion actually does damage, which can end up with you casting on a grey but attacking a blue and going grey yourself. 2 - During a champ spawn, I had my newbie tamborine looted from me somehow. I had died, Blaise ressed me, and I opened my backpack and went to double click the newbie tambo so that I could use it on the way back to my corpse, but it disappeared before I could click on it (and there were monsters all around scrapping with Blaise's white wyrms). At first I thought it had to be a bug on my end and it would reappear after I resynched or logged back in, but no. 3 - Near the end of the Blackrock event, I went to pick up a +25 halberd of vanquishing off a corpse that had died near me (sorry HC ). I seemed to pick it up but it turned out that, in fact, Upgrayyed had grabbed it before me and just not yet dropped it in his backpack. Upgrayyed got the halberd but I still went grey for looting a blue corpse. I don't know if this is normal and proper game mechanics or not, but it sure feels cheap to get flagged criminal when you don't even get the item you grab at.
Ez and I have talked about this but I am unsure of what our determation was. I will make sure to mention it to him. The only thing I could think of in this situation is if you were dragging it as you died, it would drop to the ground, possibly unnoticed in all the madness. I'm assuming it was in your base backpack as well. Any other details you can think of related to the situation? Interesting, That is a good one. Obviously the act of looting an item is the criminal action, regardless of where the item ended up, or if it rubberbanded back. Most likely both of you attempted to grab the item at the exact same time. When you went to drop the item, the server indicated it was no longer at its original location, and failed the drop action, but the lift action was apparently considered valid. Ill talk to Rammar about this and see what he thinks. Thanks for the reports as always Zagyg
As I remember it happening Chris, I was alive and trying to double-click my tamborine and then it disappeared from my pack. But demons and succubi don't scavenge from living players or steal, so I have no idea. I suppose I shouldn't bring something like this up unless I have RPV/sceenies of it because it's like a wild goose chase. About the Explosion mechanics, if it matters in your decision-making this subject was brought up in the House of Commons during the era - http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... clnk&gl=us
Thanks Upgrayyed + Chris. That's probably exactly what happened. I'm blaming it on Nyquil Liquigel caps, they're fierce.
New - 1 - At a certain range, herding will give you a success message but your target creature will not move anywhere. I tested it a bit and it happens when the combined distance from player to target creature and player to target are is greater than a certain amount (I don't know how much, not great at measuring tiles). The individual distances aren't that important by themselves. 2 - Ophidians don't recognize the Terathan Infiltrator as a terathan and vice versa. They sit down and talk about the good old days instead of brawling.
Interesting, thanks. This is due to me forgetting to add them to their respective opposition group (what makes them naturally aggressive to other groups), similar to how slayers originally weren't working on bosses because their entries weren't added at the time either. Thanks!
This is really trivial... just posting it to talk I cut up Rikktor's corpse and got the cutting animation of blood appearing but it wasn't accompanied by a system message. And cutting up the corpse didn't produce any hides, meat, or anything. Also (primarily for Ezekiel) when a spell casting tame (pet) is poisoned or low on hp, they'll gheal or cure. Well if a fight ends with the monster dying before the pet got a chance to cast the cure/gheal, they'll hold the spell precast. Then when they fight again, their first action will be to cast the spell they were holding, even if it's no longer appropriate to do so (they've been cured or vetted back to full health).
