How to train Enticement (Discordance) as a Tamer with a Mount! Doesn't require a house, pathing or hiding! This may not be the fastest method but it's great for anyone who wants to afk train enticement (discordance). This method works because of how mounts in uo work. Discordance typically requires you to hide or be far enough away from a mobile before you can attempt to disco it again. But if you can mount your target it will wear off just like as if you were far enough away or hiding. Presumably due to it technically no longer being within range of you. No fear of taking damage or your mount going wild and just in case I've included in the macro how to set it up for feeding the mount. No home? No problem! Find somewhere quiet in a less popular town and macro away! Requires: ~300 gold (for vendor training) ~840 gold (for regular instruments off an npc bard. You're going to need quite a lot of these.) ~95.1 taming, ~100 animal lore a Frenzied Ostard a Nightmare Skill: 0-30 Vendor train 30-68 Frenzied Ostard 68-100 Nightmare !►NPC Mobile's stats influence their barding difficulty. Lower stats means they will be easier to bard, Higher more difficult. So if you have a frenzied ostard with low stats you may not be able to gain all the way up to 68. Switch to a nightmare or find a frenzied ostard with better stats. →You can check a mobiles barding difficulty with animal lore. I hit GM enticement in approximately 30 hours game time. Razor macro: Due to how this is setup you will need to record this macro yourself. However below you will see exactly how mine looks, with some extra detail. Code: For ( 1 to 250 ) If (SysMessage "jarring") Pause 5.00sec End If Double Click (double click yourself to get your id here) Pause .50sec Use Skill Discordance Wait for Target Absolute Target (You target your mount here) Double Click (double click your mount to get your id here) Pause 12.00sec Double Click (double click your instrument of choice and convert it to type) End For Double Click (double click yourself to get your id here) Lift cut%s% of raw ribs (id) - 1 Drop to (onto your mount) Double Click (double click your mount to get your id here) Pause 12.00sec Explanation: For 250 gives you 50 to 80 minutes before you feed the mount. You never use any commands so there is no risk of your mounts happiness going down. Dismount, use disco, target the mount, remount, wait 12 seconds... Checks if you succeeded at "jarring" (discoing) the target and delays it's continuation by 5 more seconds. Plays an instrument by type so it knows which one to try enticing (discoing) with. After 250 attempts (50 to 80 minutes) it will dismount, feed the pet 1 food, remount and wait 12 seconds just in case. Loop (on) Video: Showing how to setup the macro & showing it in action at 2:18. Sorry for any little mistakes in the video! Special thanks to: Bloodlust for letting me borrow his nightmare to test this.
I had issues with the mount staying is discord. I just added another "if" sytem message. One pause for fail, 11 seconds and one for success, 19 seconds.
That may be possible, I'm not entirely familiar with the "all guard me" mechanics on UO:R. I just wanted to be thoroughly sure there was no chance of the tamed mount going wild. As when I tested this method I used a nightmare that someone was kind enough to let me borrow. Better safe than sorry!
19 seconds is too long, I want to say you've setup something wrong. Even in this guide: Mutombo's Rhodesian Guide to Discord He states it only takes 16 seconds. Mine is setup for 17 seconds to account for any potential lag. I have the if jarring system message at the top because razor is fickle about catching system messages sometimes. So make sure you're not doing anything else with this character when using this method. - I'm going to add a video to the original post.
I read somewhere on the forums that saying "All Guard Me" is a command that... a) never gets rejected by the pet b) increases the pet's loyalty You could test this out. Lore your pet, say all guard me, then lore him again. I am starting to plan out a RP Disco Warrior, and will start once my tamer gets a Mare. I'll use the snoop trigger on the tamer to get him to mount/demount.
Any successful command increases the pet's loyalty. All guard me has a HIGH chance of being successful, but is not 100% success. Also, failed commands lower loyalty and the lower the loyalty the greater chance of them disobeying. That means it is possible to get a string of bad RNG and lose your pet. I have never had this happen personally on dragons, but have lost many a mare, who are more stubborn.
Make this macro run then go AFK, and earn your free time for another task and free monthly plats! Brilliant guide!
I ran into some problems that I'll put here in case anyone else runs into something similar using this method. I don't know enough about the mechanics to say why this is, but make of it what you will. I stalled completely (12hrs no gain) at 63.1 using a frenzied and npc instruments. After troubleshooting and coming up with nothing, I thought something might be wrong with my tame. I went and got a fresh frenzied. I immediately started gaining again but stalled completely at 64.5 (again, hours of no gain). Starting on a nightmare with a GM instrument and 64.5 skill did the trick. Despite the issues I ran into and the time I wasted, this is a great method. Thanks for the guide.
This method works fine, that is user error. Barding difficulty on npc mobiles is influenced by their stats. So you may have had a frenzied with bad stats so it didn't take you as far. You can check their barding difficulty with animal lore. I assumed people would know this. As this is not an all encompassing bard guide. none the less I'll add this info to the op. also it's pretty blatant when you use animal lore and the barding difficulty value doesn't match what's on web pages and or varies mob to mob. Side fact,.. using disco on a monster lowers their stats thus making them easier to bard while disco'd. (easier to peace or provo)
I thought barding difficulty was only determined by type of creature, and not stats. Thanks. Either way, I'm sure this guide will be used by a lot of people who don't know all the ins and outs, so the issue is probably relevant. I figured it was user error, but like I said I didn't know how to explain it.
Dear newb, I actually don't even like the name discordance and since I'm the boss I just call it enticement. Don't like it? I don't really care. Sincerely, Skills Tab
