what do you do with the 1000 starting GP?

Do you use it? Do you drop it?

Thinking of starting this type of play

Usually I spend on the purchase of useful skills in the future. In general for education :)

Do you play a char that doesn't macro or buy things? You've got to use only what you've been given by the game?

I take what I need, I give what I can and use everything that the game provides, as needed.

I would claw my eyes out and chew off my own tongue trying to play this way.

I buy things you can't craft.

I guess you could go kill ogres for bottles, for example. That is a bit too far for me and doesn't make sense either, but if you want to do it, have at it. I view it as more of a hole in the in era crafting system than a naturalist issue.

Personally my naturalist char isn't hard mode. I just play without any third party programs. I also don't support my character with other alts' skills/gold or accept handouts. You could say my natty is played the way UO intended it. I use the newb gold, I buy skills up to 30, i only use hotkeys or options customizable from the in-game options. But that's just me.

From someone that struggled with a group seeing eye to eye on a singular ruleset on this, I personally voted no skills.

Typically one weapon one armor piece and never used player vendors. That's what I eventually went with so people wanting to go the naturalist route wouldn't go insane.

Good luck on your naturalist path, it's truly the most fun I've had here!
