How do you make money fishing? Read allot about how this is lucrative, but starting a new fisherman, i don't see it...also what template should i use fishing?

so does fishing require the 3 fisherman, and what level do i have to be to start getting this good loot. i was just dissuaded when i stated a fish character, and was casting off the dock for fish worth 1gp a piece...
If that's what it takes to dissuade you, perhaps put your fishing endeavors on hold and pick up something else that may interest you for now. Fishing is a patience game (period). Have you had the chance to try taming yet? You might like that.
Fishing doesn't require 3 fishers, but most people use 3 fishers because it's the most efficient way to do things. It's hard to do anything else while you're fishing because you have to fish attended, so you might as well use all 3 clients for it. The good loot starts higher up in the fishing skill, and can't be gotten from a dock. You have to fish off a boat for the good stuff. Fishing can be lucrative with little effort but takes a LOT of time.
For the good stuff: You need a boat to fish in deep water. You need GM fishing skill. You need to be able to kill some sea serpents & krakens.
Fishing is damn cool and lucrative. Yesterday I managed to fish up a complete pirateship, with undead drowned pirates, chests and a barrel and somone that seemed very lost called Arne that was on his way to Shame he claimed. If you for some reason think that fishing seems boring, then do not try taming, as that requires more patience than fishing, as wylwrk suggested. Why Arne had not drowned, beats me though but he was still kicking. 3 accounts is nice for many things and fishing is one of them. Why setup a fishing training with 1 char only when you can have 3 running at the same time? You macrotrain the fishers up to 99.9 and then you need to sit and watch them untill they get to 100 fishing. The goal is to get MIBs, messages in bottles and fish up treasure chests and those chests contains 1-5000 GP, nice armor and weapons, reagents, scrolls, jewels and before you fish it up, you might be able to fish up waterdamaged pillows, paintings and other house decorations as you do not need a pillow when crawling inside a dungeon as far as I know nor a painting but it is nice stuff for the decorator to play along with. You might even get a heavy fish that you can mount on your wall inside your cabin. Check out the ongoing fishing tourny that runs at this very moment for 6 more days. Fishing the way it is done in UO is really something I have missed a lot in all other games I tested before and after UO and I played many different RPG like games after I quit UO 10 years ago and none had it, not even the damn good fishing mod that was made for Morrowind had it, even if that mod was the closest there is. Fishing in Wow will never get as good as it is in UO and yes, I played Wow for a period and took part in all fishing tournaments but it was never as good as it gets here. Fishing is the part I missed most. My fishing setup is: One Fisher/T-hunter/Mage, 2 Fishermen/Archers with healing and one of them is a fletcher too. The 2 Archers heals eachothers and the mage, in a 3 sec cycle as they are both 100 dex while the mage will be able to focus in damage and nothing from the deep sea will kill them as long as I do not forget to run the right macro that is or the boat starts moving while fighting Kraken.
Can a fisher with just archery get those chests up on their own or are they going to need provo or magery to manage it solo?
I'm finishing up training on my fisherman, Sid Fishous, and he's a provo/peace mage. 98.9 and slooooowly gaining Here's his template: http://uoplanner.com/share/9hrvr/bard-mage-fishing
You can do it solo with an archer, which I used to do at the Europe shard. I think the only sea monster that heals is the Loch Ness one and not much so you will manage very nice with a single archer/fisherman but I strongly suggest 3 fishers at the same time, because it will spawn 3 times as many sea monsters and MIBs. //Pekka
How lucrative is fishing, with 3 clients, in terms of gold per hour? Recently started playing here and don't want to spend money on raising magery for 3 fishing characters if it is not going to pay for itself in a reasonable time period.
After you play here for a while you will need magery for a lot of different things. Even if fishing shouldnt suit you, Magery is still a pretty verstitile skill.. You would be able to make PvP Mages out of them with ease, or pretty much whatever comes in mind, be it Tamer or Dexer. If one thing is for sure than its Magery as a single skill = OP, and can be used pretty much for everything. Side calculation: Raising Magery on 3 chars will cost you about 150k gold. If you fish on 3 accounts, you will earn that amount in no time at all.
It's hard to gauge gold per hour on fishing. You might fish up some sea monsters with lvl 1 t maps and mibs which you can either do or sell, or you might get lucky and fish up something good like the AMIBs which you can sell for a good chunk of change... just a top of the head guess but i think they go for 40 to 150k or so depending on the color. So it's quite possible you'd make more an hour fishing than you would farming. A lot of people will actually do their AMIBs for plat and rares that sell really well. If you've got a decent monitor setup you could always run 3 fishers on the same screen and watch netflix or whatever at the same time, if you wish Just don't do it afk or you'll get tossed in the slammer!
