is really hard to search rare-animal , this quest waste a lot time do the same thing.
kill mob(animal) , and wait him spawn.
    i don't know the rare-animal spawn chance , 1/200 or lower .
i spend much time at runing and search .

This is supposed to be end-game content for tamers. Its not supposed to be simple.

I highly recommend you get involved with Blacksmith Bulk Order Deeds. That is surely a more exciting game play experience.

It does take time and they do spawn randomly all over.

How about just keep using trash dragons if it's such a hassle?

I would recommend reading the guide for the quest. Unlike boss monsters these animals can spawn all over the world. The literally worst thing you can do is work a single spot waiting for that animal to spawn unless that spot spawns only that animal (Dragons or WW's)

But like several players mentioned it is supposed to be hard, and is best done with some friends. Once you collect all 23 pets you will want to get a group together to tackle the 2nd part of the event as well.

just goes to show that difficulty is a sliding scale.
