What is the Cult of Kek?
The Cult of Kek or Church of Kek is a new Digital "Faith" based on the belief that Meme Magic is real and the primary deity of this faith is an Egyptian God called Kek or Kuk.

    Who is Kek?
Here is the Kek of Egyptian times, seen here on ancient Egyptian artifacts, etc..

What is the Cult of Kek in UO Rennaissance?
The Cult of Kek is super casual group of worshipers of the Elder God called Kuk or Kek. The first branch of missionaries have arrived to the lands of Brittania around 2 months ago and have established themselves in the farthest reaches of the desert. A truly barren place that was left for dead. Due to Kek being an Ancient Elder Egyptian God living in the desert was the only logical place for this new mission. The group so far is lead by Hiji Zuru and his entourage of meme makers.

Are you guys friendly or some crazy cult people?

Due to the missionary nature of our organization we wish to live in Harmony with those of the current community to as much of our ability. We consider each person in this world a potential convert and wish to remain on friendly terms with all parties, hope to create alliances, and develop trading relationships. By all means we understand some people's apprehension about these new ideas concerning meme magic and the coming of Kek but that is too be expected with any new radical ideas. Especially because many of the synchronicities related to Meme Magic often make a person feel deeply unsettled and that the very fabric of their reality is something far different than they realized. We hope our actions will prove our trust and honor to you all.

    Are you an RP Guild?
Yes, but its super casual and there really is no such thing as OOC or any hard rules except the general guideline of living in harmony. Though I think you will find out that our Holy Missions may be exceptions to this rule as well ;). We like to say things like Shadilay and Praise Kek! and other silly things.

What are your current goals other than spreading the word of Kek?
    Broad Goals of our Group:
    1. Complete the Holy Missions given from the Lord our God Kek
    2. Spread Memes
    3. Assist new players and increase the new player retention rate of the shard (important), and thus spread more memes
    4. Recruit more members into the Cult of Kek
    5. Break our members from the shackles of poverty and tediousness of farming mobs.
    6. Participate in as many player events as possible.

There is a wealth of content that is unique to this shard. Cult of Kek would like to explore this content together and in doing so hopes to offer a fun, new experience to veterans and noobs alike. This type of content includes:

    • Ancient Messages in a Bottle
    • Level 5,6,7 tmaps
    • Fishing events - Pirate Battles, Kraken, etc..
    • Tailor Bulk Order Deeds
    • Blacksmith Bulk Order Deeds
    • Zookeeper quest pet hunting
    • Bond Slot quest running
All of these activities are highly enjoyable, unique to this shard experience, and can be enjoyed by a wide range of character templates. If you are a new player or old and are frustrated with the tedium of dungeon hunting or getting pked we can help you find a new way forward for you in Ultima.

The Elder God Kek has spoken to me after the Great Hypno toad ritual and has given us a new Holy Mission meant to kick off the New Year. In order to complete this holy quest the Cult of Kek is opening its doors for the first time with need of recruits to act on behalf of the Lord Kek. If you are interested in any way please reach out to Hiji Zuru or join IRC channel #kek.

How do I join? Can I Join?
Contact Hiji Zuru on the forums or IRC and he will organize the proper initiation ritual and gather the necessary components.
    Join #kek on IRC.
Anyone can join. But you keep in mind you must be willing to live in harmony with the rest of the community, respect fellow guild members and be a respectable representative for Kek in the world of Brittania. Three strike your out policy.
We love young accounts and have plenty of resources to help you get started.

Do Cult members have a required uniform?
Not exactly. We do encourage our members to adopt the likeness of the Lord Kek as much as possible and this is usually achieved through a green orc mask of some kind but it is not required. Rock the style you most feel comfortable in, but have a green orc mask on hand for Cult Ritual Nights. Our Lord Kek has the head of a frog but the body of a man.

    What is Meme Magic?

Meme magic is hard to define but it is the concentrated form of energy that comes from generating world changing memes. The ability to tap into meme magic is very rare and takes many years of study to even begin to learn the basics.

Does the Cult of Kek have a theme song?
Yes, meme magic once again revealed unto the followers of Kek another message that was hidden right before our very eyes. The name of this song is called Shadily by the Italian band called P.E.P.E under the label of Magic Sound. It was released in 1986.

How can this even be possible? Years before the emergence of Pepe the frog and Kek we have the appearance of a green frog on album under the name of Pepe.

I converted to Esoteric Kekism around six months ago after witnessing meme magic first hand. I would love to join you. I'm Shadilay in game and on IRC.

While I may look cautiously upon this group since they are claiming to be a cult, I find their mission intriguing and filled with passion. I will not drink the green kool aid though, but I do wish you well in spreading your message to those in need.

Now, I'll read the whole thing tomorrow but gotta comment on this. In Swedish, aye my native tongue, 'kuk' is the word for 'cock'. Not referring to the animal. I think I already know what to expect!

This is the same Pepe the frog that is the symbol of the alt right that the anti defamation league has labeled a symbol of racist hate, right?

HAH, I think I am ok with that. Makes it even funnier! Also this reminds me of my recent conversation with @Samorite about getting a guild forum ......now that I reread it I think he may have been trolling me!!! ;) jkjk

Cult of Kek has no relation such hateful acts or anything of the sort nor do we condone the use of Pepe in any such way. Pepe existed years before(2005) it was trampled by politics and it still remains a foundation of the meme market. Rare pepes are still being made and discovered today by people all over the internet on a daily basis. Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj have memed with Pepes. Just today this early era rare pepe was discovered in someone's attic..Definitely a buy.

Pepe grew very popular and some bad guys even started using him. But Pepe has been reclaimed by its original creator and Pepe continues to be a popular mainstream meme. Cult of Kek stands by his statement 100%.

“As the creator of Pepe, I condemn the illegal and repulsive appropriations of the character by racist and fringe groups. The true nature of Pepe, as featured in my comic book, ‘Boys Club,’ celebrates peace, togetherness and fun. I aim to reclaim the rascally frog from the forces of hate and ask that you join me in making millions of new, joyful Pepe memes that share the light hearted spirit of the original chilled-out champion.

source:Time – Pepe the Frog’s Creator: I’m Reclaiming Him. He Was Never About Hate

I believe strongly that we should stand by this artist and his struggle against hate. To denounce Pepe would signal a victory to bad people and would be a massive blow to this artist's legacy. It is not fair to him or the millions of people who have used Pepe the frog for fun and laughs.

For a pretty good history of Pepe the Frog you can read it here.

Also, keep in mind that Pepe is just one of thousands of signs that Kek is reawakening. While Cult of Kek recently hosted a Pepe the Frog contest and will be awarding the winner 1million gold I think its important I clarify the difference between Pepe and Kek in terms of our guild background. Compared to Kek, Pepe the frog doesn't have a huge place in our religion or lore. He is one of the millions of memes in our ancient meme library. There are similarities in some physical ways but by no means should Pepe be considered Kek. Pepe is a cartoon frog and his entire body is green. Kek is an ancient Egyptian God who existed thousands of years ago. Unlike Pepe he has the body of a man but the head of Frog. Kuk, the female version has the head of a snake and the body of a woman(I wish we had snake masks in game). The one true god is Kek and he is the lord our Father.

As missionaries in this land we hope to live in harmony with everyone. @Milky Milkerson, if you have any further concerns about our intentions or goals please don't hesitate to send me a PM.

Ok thanks for the clarification. Didn't mean to lump you with anybody. The hate group use of this frog until now was the only one I was aware of. I wish you luck in prying it back from them.
