I noticed this right away from day 1. T2a dungeons able to be recalled into from fel? This doesn't seem to jive with my memory of how to access t2a content but then again it could have been from the t2a era and not the renaissance era. The reason I think its nice to have two recalls to get into t2a dungeons is because it does actually deter pks. I have had a pk personally tell me t2a farming is the safest because they rarely go there because of the extra steps. So it was a super bummer to realize that PKs can recall directly to terathan keep, phoenix cave, ice dungeon, etc....These places were all great for farming because of their remoteness.

I have edited my post to be less douchey. Sorry.

T2A dungeons were always in the same region as regular dungeons, so it is era accurate.

I think it would be awesome if you couldn't recall or gate into any dungeon at all.

    you say that now...

Go a month without doing it. :)

If you don't use recall or gate in/out today, good for you. Why do you want to limit other's gameplay? Why not just say NERF Tamers, or ban PKs

To me, it is a lot less about trying to nerf anyone and more about trying to encourage more adventure. If you can recall/gate right to a spot in a dungeon that lets you just farm out gold and then you can waltz to the bank, then that is just grinding. PKs doing the same thing, recalling in and basically farming/grinding pvm characters is the same mentality. Starting from the top of a dungeon and working your way through it is where things get interesting, and if you can't instantly recall out to safety, you need to be quicker on your feet to escape dangers. Though I do understand how much more dangerous it would be and how more likely to not recover items if you die (since you would need to walk out and back in, unarmed), it would certainly make the dungeon-going experience more interesting, and it would allow more engagement with other monsters in dungeons than just the very best gold-per-hour farmable ones.

At any rate, I am not saying it should or should not be done, It is just my opinion on it :)

There was always a strong desire (and some forum threads about it) for at least one new dungeon with that travel restrictions. Maybe include mount restrictions too. And make that dungeon worthwhile to play, for example with increased platinum coin drops or whatever, to give an incentive to be actually there. There is no need to skip earning money/coins.

EDIT: That's one of the threads: http://uorforum.com/threads/defined-area-without-mounts-poll.10225/

So, Khaldun is already a bit like this. You cannot directly recall in or out (I dont think you can gate in, but can you gate out? I forget).

The problem with Khaldun though is that it is not very interesting. 99% of the mobs are not worthwhile to fight at all; the zealots are very strong and give almost no loot, for example.

I think to sort of go along with my previous statement about making the dungeon-going experience more interesting, there would need to be additional elements added, such as better treasure chests throughout the dungeons (getting better as you go deeper into the dungeon) - this would mean less junk and more actual treasure, and this would also provide thief/rogue characters more opportunities for their specialties.

I guess I just yearn for the more classic dungeon-crawling experience where your party starts at the beginning and forges its way through more and more difficult monsters, traps, and puzzles and encountering better and more interesting treasures along the way. Of course, not being able to recall in/out would mean you would need to be more careful about what you bring in, and be more selective about what you choose to take and try to bring back out.

Yeah in Khaldun, you run in, Gate out to a stable like Brit. Grab your pets and get to farming. You can also recall OUT of there as well.

I am thinking I like this idea for ALL dungeons. Though I can see Gate Bots becoming all the rage :)

the nameless ghouls got my tamer in Khaldun once, where before I had never encountered a red at all there haha. But I do like the idea of them having to do more of the leg work instead of making the recall rounds.
