Hey guys, How do I solo dragons with a dexxer? Dexxers are very fun to play, but when facing higher level monsters, they just die too easily My template is: Anat, Tact, Sword, Heal, Music, Peace, 30/30/30 LJ/Mage/Resist Appreciate any insights~
Basically with your template and lots of running. Peace breaks easily on high end monsters so it takes a while but you can do it. Using provo to pair up 2 dragons would be easier.
I would go with Macing... crushing blow is a bigger bonus than 30 Lumberjacking, and the stamina drain will help slow down the dragon's swings. Move the LJ skill to resist.
Anat, Tact, Sword, Heal, Veterinary, Animal Lore, 30/30/30 LJ/Mage/Resist If you really enjoy playing a dexxer and want to tackle higher end mobs I would suggest dropping music/peace and picking up Vet/Lore. Then get/bond a good forest ostard and let it be your tank, with 100 dex you can vet every 3 secs. It's cheap to convert and really fun to play! also like @Dalavar suggested, mace would work better than swords/30 LJ
I have read somewhere that every time a monster is attacked, there is a chance the Peace effect fades away. Then is it more sensible to use a slow weapon? If yes, does Halberd make sense? Or you guys still think mace is better? Does double axe do more damage than war mace even without LJ? (I decided to drop LJ, and will go for 60-70 resist)
I would choose macing over LJ. Drains Stamina on higher HP monsters and slowing down their attacks helps you not to run away as much. Provo will be better than peacemaking as long as there are other monsters to provo onto. Peacemaking is great if you're running around farming things that take 1-5 hits (Evil Mages) to kill. I haven't tried discordance alone yet on a dexxer which is something I want to. I may try a Mace-Disco Dexxer, as it takes an initial 20% off stats and skills which is really helpful. Slower weapons does make sense as to not break peace. I asked that question on IRC a couple months back, but no one had a solid answer.
You have a build that can pull 70+ k an hour with less that 200g equipment. That's the beauty of it. Yes you can solo dragons if you choose to but that is not what it is for.
Thanks for the suggestions! Does Halberd benefit from LJ? Or it only requires Swordsmanship? Also, I assume black staff doesnt give stamina strain? only hammers do?
I chose the tamer dexer build for this kind of thing, because I like the extra damage taking and giving of a nightmare tank. Also looks hella cool. Taming Animal Lore Veterinary Mace Fighting Tactics Anatomy Magery It works quite well as long as you can avoid taking hits. This hasn't been a problem for me.
I agree. I think this is literally the only time it make sense to use macing on UOR. Dexer vs Balrons, Daemons, Dragons, etc... But if he does peacemaking, it doesn't really matter. Mine as well just do sword 5x dexer + peace/music. Won't get hit much anyway and it's better to actually have resist. My big question is why does he bother to do peacemaking? Provocation makes more sense for dragons since any good place to farm them has several usually.
http://uorforum.com/threads/the-peacemaking-dexxer-and-you-a-guide.2897/ This guide was the first one i read on UOR and the first route i went with on my first char. I recently created a new peace-dexxer to go back to my roots. There's videos of peace dexxer going toe to toe with lich lords, daemons, and a balron. It gives great advice but some things you will need to figure out for yourself especially with dragons and timing their firebreath with your healing. What's great about peace dexxer is, you can switch him to a provo dexxer in the matter of a couple days.
Apart from bard skills, use slayer weapons instead of regular. In other words, find a dragon slayer which gives a neat damage bonus
This picture shows it can be done.. Maybe the trick is using a shield to block the foes mighty blows!
im wondering as well. I know i can do pretty well from a gp per hour with my dexxers but 70k/h…Im not sure.
why don't i ever save the forum link for melee dps calculations people did. ughhhh i'll dig it up http://uorforum.com/threads/renaiss...sourced-guide-project.7530/page-4#post-163344 lots of the uor's best dexxers recorded their best farming locations in there. As well as some good ossy tank @Keza showing off a build similar to @Kash s he posted.
