    Ahh Lib. They can be really fun, at least for me. I know the Fel vs. Tram issue, but I acknowledge that tournaments are not true pvp. They're just another fun aspect of the game for some.

    You're right, I'm not a fan of the mining changes. It's not era accurate, it's not game accurate.. but there is another thread for this, right? You want to argue mining with me do it there.

    The change to gates is Trammel. This type of PKing or griefing was all part of this era. I haven't partaken in any gate killing, ever. I'm a proponent of it, however. If you played during this era you knew to watch for two things at brit bank; gates that aren't yours and thieves.

    You can't argue on one foot stating there isn't any risk with mining blah blah blah... Then argue that there needs to be a hand to guide you in case you take a gate you shouldn't be jumping. This reminds me of the gump you used to get when you put a moonstone in the ground and dared to go back to Felucca.

    I can understand why you'd want to cater to new players and take their frustrations into consideration, but there are vets who get frustrated when they can't play the game the way it was intended to be played. I'm all for avoiding shooing the newcomers away by using griefing against them, but these [young] players already have a gump that prevents them from getting tricked. Why not make Occlo a no thief area too?

    Sure, there is absolutely no risk to the PK who gate fishes, but the same goes for the BoD filler that never leaves his house.

    When you incorporate extra protection you are letting in a piece of Tram. When a stat red hops a gate they don't get a warning that it's a town.. The blue in town shouldn't get a warning that they are taking a gate to a house. There are consequences to your actions, that's my point. Don't take a gate that isn't intended for you, it's pretty simple.

    The game was never designed or intended for people to be griefing shitbags. Play the friggen game and stop worrying about oversights in design and exploits being removed or corrected to prevent people from abusing them to ruin the gameplay of others.

    If you want to crap on someone's couch, head on out of your house and DO IT, within the rules and expected common sense mechanics of the game (not broken recreations of problem's past). Personally, I will never lose sleep over people being nerfed out of their ability to be shitbads. Casting EVs in houses, purple potting through walls, gate trapping and the like, are all things that made Trammel the big easy fix for OSI instead of painstakingly going through each mechanic and adjusting it to suit PEOPLE ACTUALLY PLAYING THIS RPG.

    Whats the big deal about the gates? People can disable the feature if you don't like it. The fact that some people will get a warning shouldn't rile anyone unless they prey on the newbies and if they do that they are hurting the entire server by deterring new players from staying.

    Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for reds that go out and hunt players, even the gank squads have merit as it takes cooperation and communication and at least they are out playing the game and making my adrenaline spike and my heart race.

    People who use tricks to lure new and unsuspecting players into their homes so they can get a 'free' kill get no respect from me, that a lowlife and cowardly way of basically being a bully.

    If the mechanics of the server allow it, people will do it. That is the nature of the Felucca world we live in. Now players reputations based on their actions will always vary from loved to hated, but in this situation the players worked with the staff to come up with a solution that preserved the Felucca rule set while educating players about the risks in the world. After the next patch, if someone walks through a gate, into a strange house they can only be upset with themselves for not heeding the warning of the gate.

    Regardless of reputation, the players involved were understanding regarding our concerns, agreed to stop the gating until I had a chance to come up with a solution. This is what sets Renaissance apart from other servers in my opinion. We have the best players on any free server.

    For now we are just discussing the listed items. However we have no plans to add neon items to the server. Renaissance is in a class of its own with aesthetic appeal and we want to keep it that way.

    This is the server players come to when they want to get away from neon pink tables, glow in the dark sandals, and iced out horses that better belong in a rap video.

    That said, I have been known to grant requests for goofyness on test center. Make sure to chest the test area the next time you are there.

    Obvious exploits should be fixed, same with scams.

    A server that approves and revolves around Razor shouldn't be surprised with macro gathering. There are guides in the forums, after all, that will teach you how to macro gather. These guides have been here long before I have and I've even run a few of them several times. You can't teach people how to macro gather then preach that it's wrong.. how fucking stupid is that?

    PKing is a playstyle, griefing is a playstyle. Just because you don't approve of it or think it's prickish doesn't make it any less part of this game and era. Rez killing is prickish, right? Are we going to put some sort of limit on rez killing? Afterall, my feelings are getting hurt.. lol! Get real. If someone if PKing you or griefing you it isn't them being a dick, it's the game you play and a loved aspect of the game by people that enjoy this part of it. House looting? Probably the biggest "prick move" around and something that would make average people quit.. is staff going to create something to prevent this? Of course not, it's part of the game.

    There is no exploit or abuse of mechanics by tricking someone to use a gate. This is what we are talking about, JUST THIS. The point is people are being tricked into using the gate.. there is no abuse, no exploit. You consider those people pricks, I consider them funny.

    I don't care for deterring new players from playing here either, however, that's what the young player program was intended to do.. protect those people.

    Again, my view of Trammel is obviously different than yours. Trammel was a land free of any negative player interaction.

    I'm not looking to get rich for nothing, I'm pretty sure I explained many times that I spent hours and days making code and refining it to start my recall miners. I didn't just sit back, go afk for days, then come back to millions.

    Anyway, I'm going off on a tangent here. I'll stress it again, my point is that when you add more protection (in this case telling people they are going into a house) you are becoming a little bit more "carebear" .. "carebear" being my definition and view of Trammel.

    Let me ask this then:

    At 12:01pm, my 3xGM Carpenter, Fletcher, and Tinkerer walks up to an NPC carpenter, says "order status" and accepts the BOD. At what point can he then walk up to an NPC fletcher and receive a BOD? Immediately, or 6:01pm?

    Your first response made me think the former, while your screenshot makes me think the latter.

    6:01pm. The 3 types of BOD's will be grouped under the "Carpentry" umbrella. The expectation is the system will be larger than tailoring, but smaller than smithing once we combine the 3 trade skills.

    Does this mean magical instruments will be repairable through skill and/or fortification powder?
