Seriously, what a fucking chump. I started here with a 100 fucking gold pieces in my backpack and bought the first guild house with money made picking cotton which I spun to cloth and sold to NPCs.

Shame I couldn't just send Shane a check and get mad housing here like you're about to do on UOFailover. lolololololdork.

Should be made so each account can only have 3 houses. My 2 cents!

Don't go running to UOF because you can't find a house. This shard is amazing with plenty of spots to place. Sorry if your not going to get your desired house spot right off the bat.

This is a non-issue in my humble opinion for these reasons:
    1. As a new player you can save up the amount of money to buy a tower deed before you lose your young status. You and your friends should be able to save up the gold for whatever houses you wish to place.
    2. There are tons of people here that will help, heck they will even go out and find you a plot to place your deed! ( I see plots of various sizes just about everywhere I go).
    3. If the UO house of your dreams is what will make you happy, then just do whatever it takes to get it! Make connections, talk to people, jump into IRC and inquire as to who might be willing to help. Make friends.

Bottom line is, it can be achieved. I don't think there is anyone on this server who wouldn't want to help anyone who might have a problem like this or similar one.
Of course, they might PK you later in the day, or lift that precious weapon from your back pack but, hey, we're all in this together!

I think it's a problem too, the amount of players active and plots taken don't add up. Large housing only available for sale with outrageous mark up, easily made scarcer by the 15 per person limit.

And as someone who's owned a majority of the best houses on this server since it started, I can pretty much throw in that if you haven't used your house in over 2 years, you probably aren't going to.

One house per account should be plenty

    blah blah blah

    fix stealing

The 1 per account limit will also stop these IDOC zergs from dominating and blocking so many spots with smaller houses on such a large scale unless they decide to keep a couple of accounts open or break the account limit rule. To put this in perspective for you, 4 players would be limited to 12 houses. If they have a fort or a large house or two for their chars less, to block with. This is opposed to the same 4 players having the ability that they currently do to put down 60 (60!) houses total.

Argue how you want, but that's a huge difference.

I'm a member of one of those big Zerg IDOC guilds and i completely agree with this statement. IMO housing was one of the issues that destroyed a sever that shall not be named....

    UOAI had the best method.
    - 1 House per IP
    - Ability to add time to the decay timer by playing (You could actually go on vacation for a few months and expect your house to still be there when you got back)
    - All items deleted at IDOCs except resources

IMHO house decay rules were designed for a time when OSI had 1000's of player on a server and a small house was difficult to place.

No, the answer to the issue of red guild domination at idocs isn't ruining idocs by eliminating the item drops. The answer to that is blue idoc Pvp guilds.

And to note what I've observed, the last idoc I camped was wiped by Swift n crew, but they didn't place anything. I got an Lshape by the water out of it.

So to say that getting housing is impossible is ridiculous.
Also, I placed what can be a brick 14x14 just one or two screen from yew bank. Stop the sniveling.

blue idoc pvp guilds don't work because you need reds as enforcers.
