Hello everyone! So I returned to UO after a 6 year absence. I tried to play Mythic's now version of UO but found it much different than I remembered and quite stark on the population. I searched around the internet and landed here.... Its refreshing, it brings me back to some of feeling of UO as I remember it. Players here are generally helpful and willing to chat and seem to have a decent population for the shard, which is exciting. So with that excited to meet you all, and to try some gameplay that I have never rolled before (tamer, Fisherman, Mage) Few end questions: Crafters still viable for Player to Player economy? Anything Unique on my new shard that I should see or visit? Any tips for returning player? Cheers everyone
Welcome to the shard! Crafting here is awesome and very much viable, and it's going to get way better in the (hope to be) near future in an upcoming patch with carpentry Bulk Order Deeds. Bulk Order deeds for smithing and tailoring seem to be big business as well. You should join the young program in Occlo to relearn the ropes, you cannot be attacked by other players and such, and there is a dungeon and other things to do. Easier to build your characters that way. Occlo bank is usually hopping with activity, it's pretty much the new West Britain Bank haha. Hope to see you around!
Crafters are viable for player to player via vendor shops (furniture, home addons, armor sets, arrows). You wont find the old school GM smith standing at the forge offering repairs. This server has tons of unique things to attempt. Tips: Take advantage of having 3 accounts, macro 2 while playing one, to get skills up while still earning money. Join IRChttp://www.uorenaissance.com/irc/?page=irc to be involved with the community. Don't be afraid to look for help, not hand outs. Many people will loan homes and resources to help people get established.
Welcome to UOR. One reason I love this server, is for the "feeling" you mentioned. It is UO. We have a fantastic staff here, who are very approachable, work hard to make the server interesting for all play styles. And a great player community. Many of the established players host player run events. Along with the in game events, such as Capture the Flag, lots of things to do here. Couple of hints. Do not carry a runebook in your inventory, they are not blessed here and can be taken. You cannot buy a boat from the shipwright, they are craftable items here, but you can buy the ship plan to make the ship. But, always remember, this is fel.. a dangerous, but fun world. glad to have ya Westra
thanks everyone for the welcome, cant wait to get the fingers dirty with some game play! cheers and see you all soon.
Manix Hello sir and well met. We have a great community here on this shard, and I think you will really enjoy yourself here if you dig into it! Well, I am Krake, and I run the new players guild here called Project Sanctuary. If you are looking for some people to adventure and train with, feel free to drop me a line and we can talk details! Also, we have an IRC channel that you are welcome to join and ask questions; lots of helpful people in there. When you join IRC type "/join #PS" and that will take ya right to us.
