I don't see the big deal. You won't miss the opportunity to use this vendor, doesn't matter if it's today, or next month. You aren't owed anything here. Telamon even making this vendor and items available is a gift for the most part. You could make the argument that he has some obligation to donators but.. not really. If my friend ask me to come help them with something, and then calls me 20 times complaining that I am late... I would be even later, or not help them in the future.

You should be having fun just interacting with other players, it's sandbox kind of game. If staff handfeeding is what determine you having fun or not, perhaps this isn't the game for you.

Unexplained Staff inactivity has a far wider meaning than just the late xmas rewards. I am very sure that most people here aren't concerned about the shiny pixels for xmas and rather worry about the general meaning of inactivity for the development of UOR.

And you should know how previous Shards went into their demise... it started usually with what again?

If there was no Christmas event at all, that would fine. Just kinda sucks when the last thing we hear is "patch (requiring restart) tonight or tomorrow" and then a week later it's still "tonight or tomorrow".

I have no idea what corresponds to shooting. The community is mega supportive.

Most are very supportive, I agree. There are few who are not, and very vocal about it. They have the "what have you done for me lately" attitude.

I just wish someone would update the website at least semi regular, we still have night of horrors on the main page and it's January

SIDE1:

"The shard is free so you cannot critique it. The choices are: be grateful or shutup and leave."

SIDE2:

"After X years of playing here, I have noticed a consistent pattern of behavior from the staff which leads me to believe X and Y."



You guys on SIDE1 are being nice and supportive, and I get that, and it's fuzzy and warm of you to do it, but we have six years of data now. Chris won't listen to SIDE2. We have six years of data that confirm that. What you, SIDE1, can do to help, other than glossing over what is obvious to anyone who has been around for a while is:

WORK WITH US TO GET THROUGH TO CHRIS.

We want to play on his server. We want to be happy. We want to be his friend and say nice things about him. But we need a Captain at the helm of the ship and we need development.

Peddling bullshit isn't going to help anyone. If Chris just can't deal anymore, please, try and get him to hand over the keys to someone who can deal.

We have seen how shards die. We know what it looks like. And this is what it looks like.

I wasn't being overly dramatic. This is LITURALLIE the reality of the server many of us (including Chris) were on right before UOR took over. A massive exodus of vets from UOSA, where development had all but stopped, to a new shard, Chris's shard. The exodus already happened. Everyone, friends and enemies, that I played with in the beginning are now on a new shard.

So... WAH I guess?

You know six years is a long time. There is no doubt that Chris has very different and more important priorities now then he did back when he started this server. Thats okay and I say good for him. BUT the way he has left his most loyal players whom have contributed both financially and time and energy into HIS project is down right disgraceful. The constant fibs that he has told that cubs and moats are any day now is pathetic. I say the last part because a year or so ago when everyone was souring Chris released a video of the moats, then more time passes and souring more so he implements the copper dono system which was supposed to work for cubs and moats well its been a long time again and still no cubs and moats, let alone any fixes to other issues. But we have spent time changing guardzone lines around and all that jazz.. I've been one of Telemons biggest defenders, ive also been one of his biggest critics, but frankly anymore i just dont care, much like his own apathy.


One last thing and im peace out girl scouts. The PVP at the "other place" exists but it has huge flaws compared to UOR. But at least it exists. UOR could have been the king shit of all UO free servers but its not and it will never be because PVPers here are viewed as scum to be tolerated. It really is a shame.

I don't understand why all this buzz.

It is a great server, some players will like changes, priorities, etc. others don't. It happens in every community. What if cubs and moats or whatever had a good reason for not being released? it is so important that admin communicate it to every player? well, I think this is not a big thing, Chris always said that administration is made by him and very few ppl to avoid corruption and other potential issues, so you can see his absence as a side effect of administration style, the good side is the shard that we have to play.
