Snap is one of the nicest players I have met, always polite and courteous, willing to help out new players at the drop of a hat. So some of these allegations are really shocking!
One question.. yesterday, alot of gifts stay in the prizes room. Lets planned to let pick the players who dont get anything?
I just want to say thank you @Chris and others who ran this whole Anny. The gift bags were awesome. The scavenger hunt was fun to participate in as much as see how crazy good some of you people are at remembering the smallest of details about this crazy game. I am a bit annoyed that many of us who were terri-bad at the hunt didn't get that participation point you said we would get during the first hunt. But I understand there were technical difficulties during the hedge maze and am happy I got the statue. The invisible maze? I hate you ... That was pure torture! Good times. Love the shard and hope to be here for many more fun events.
We used the video of the final round to reward as many players as possible Shad. I think I made it to the first 65 people to finish the final Maze. However due to time limits (and my health after 4 days of this) I had to cap the prize room at 95 players. We are already working on changes for next year to reduce the dependence on final rounds and reward players more for each round (expanding to 1-5th place, or more per round) rather than giving away points for the final round. Just awarding players a special trophy for completing the challenge. This will allow for better scoring, and less stress. Other than Day 3 Round 12 the video recording this year went well and will let me expand things. So if you did not get anything this year we are sorry, but will update the event for next year. We will also most likely change the schedule up a bit so that bags are given out well in advance of the event. While our new account review system was a success the time to manage that and the event caused a great deal of problems.
I had a lot of fun doing your hunts and even though I didn't place 1-3 in any rounds I was lucky enough to fly through the maze and get a pick. Thanks for everything and doing this, it is appreciated. I clearly need to up my UO:R lore game and history so I can place next year.
Just to be clear, would everyone who participated in the 12th round with the Hedge Maze get a point or what?
Thank you for your answer Chris. I was lucky yesterday at invisible maze, so i was able to score 1 point. I ask this question for all others players who was not able to be in top 30 of the invisible maze and dont get any points of scav hunts.
That maze was the epitome of frustration leading into great relief once you knew you were close to getting out. Had a great time and big thanks to @Chris , @Treasureman , and any other volunteers who make these events happen. Also to O^S for having a good rune library in which i took advantage of. I will definitely be participating in more events as this was the first official one i took part in aside from fishing events.
I really enjoyed the addition of the new gifts this year (hair dyes, lanterns, books, etc) and seeing people make some money from selling and get enjoyment out of buying. The lanterns are turning out to be a sleeper hit. It gets better every year!
