I'm just playing devil's advocate here. It really doesn't bother me either way because I just don't see me falling victim to this.

What if you get locked up and thrown in country jail for a while? I know of at least one former (current?) player who has recently fallen into this category.

What if you fall on hard times and you can't pay for internet for a while?

What if aliens abduct you for 91 days?

whether its 90 days or 180 days I think that debate is up to telamon... like Cynic said 90 days may seem too short...or 6 months may seem to long, but some reasonable time frame should be put it.

I think an important topic to discuss is the grandfathered status that was referred to.

The comment about refreshing them against competition and to ensure placement makes me think that a condemned timer should be activated and completely random from 1 hour to 36 hours or some other type of unpredictable time frame and unable to be refreshed by anyone other than the house owner :p

I agree with whoever said that grandfathering houses in would be pointless and only hurt new players on the shard.

    6 months seems pretty reasonable.

There is already a "help" in place for something unforeseen happens in real.
Simple let Telamon on IRC, Chris here know. If you are unable to notify him, have a friend do so. Explain the situtation to him. Not sure if you have to give account names or not, but he will let you know, what information he needs. Than he will decide upon the situtation, etc.

    So...no worries

6 months is plenty of time, and if there is a need for someone to be away Telamon is more than helpful under circumstances if this is really needed.
NO to grandfathering, fair across the board.

if you get locked up in country jail for 91 days or abducted by aliens.. i guess i don't really care. lose your house. you're a fringe weirdo and the whole server can't have its rule set revolving around alien abductions.
