I'm not too familiar with Villas so not quite sure if there is a different way to bypass the roof like what E1000 has done. I would suggest trying the different ladder options (Castle, Tower, something else) and however many tiles back away from the wall. Go to the top of the ladder, cast FF on yourself.. get off ladder and when trying to place it, target the firefield. Learning how to mess with the z-axis can be very time consuming but rewarding like figuring out a puzzle when you get into the right rhythm. I can't even tell you how many hours I have spent messing around with it to achieve what I have on my keep, and then bridging it to my tower. Learning this process is a ton of trial and error. And I guarantee E1000 has also spent a ridiculous amount of time figuring it out.
LOL, yeah Ive been at this all day and Ive only scratched the surface i feel. Especially after seeing what you guys have managed to do. Im gonna try to start further away from the outside wall. I imagine oure still limited by the boundries of the house. As in you can go up, but not out?
@Steady Mobbin I just tried it and can confirm that it works swimmingly! I placed the 3 Oak Counters, then I placed the ladder (Tower East), then placed the Oak Table with Runner at the top of the ladder, then cast FF on myself while standing on the table, went down, and placed another ladder (Tower East), targetting the base of the FF. The character on the red ozzie is standing at the top of the higher ladder in this screenshot.
@Jill Stihl in case you aren't following the thread anymore. I know we'd discussed this briefly in PMs @Lord Sky thanks for the tag. I might have missed this otherwise! Whole new worlds of deco have been opened for me!
I'm still confused as to how to add a platform next to the ladder (Ie.. have it extend beyond your house footprint). I placed a ladder, and dropped an oak counter at my feet. Locked it down .. but I can't add any platform spots next to it. How is that done?
@Blendax you have to either repeat the process for each tile or use a bunch of ladders at once The way I have done multi ladder shenanigans is place one, then place anther by targeting the already placed ladder, and so on. The most I've done is essentially 4 ladders high, 3 ladders and decorated overhead. To get the platform on higher ladders you need a second set within one ladder height and drop the platform on the ladder. So if I'm building a 2 ladder structure, to place the platform I place a single ladder next to it climb up then drop the platform on the higher ladder. Afaik(never actually used ff) the firefield thing can be done by locking down and raising a footstool one tile. ( I had to experiment a lot for my pond. ) Also these might not be the best/easiest ways to do this but it works.
As far as I know you can’t move beyond the footprint of your house, right? I mean you can go up which gives the appearance that you’re moving off the footprint but that’s just an optical illusion, correct?
No, don’t take my words as gospel, I am only speculating. Somebody else might be able to confirm that as the case.
