Hello everyone, I'm going to join the server tonight, but i'd like to ask a few questions about gameplay. Is there special monsters to hunt with special loot table (such as lunar/undine dragons dropping armor on a shard i've played long ago)?. Is there special ore to mine to craft special armors thru blacksmith? What are your main way to keep yourself occupied while you play after getting skills and house? Thanks, Noscif
Hey hey there Noscif. This is a 1999-2001 era accurate server (Publish 51 I think....?) So there are very few "special" things, in the way that you are asking. There is no Trammel here and for the vast majority of game play, it plays just like the game did back in the late 90s. That being said, there are some fun and amazing additions to the game the enhance it and give pretty much every play style something to work towards. In terms of custom thing to this shard that would keep one occupied while you play after getting skills and house: 1. Fishing up Ancient Message in Bottles. These create a closed instance for you and your friends to do. A sort of mini dungeon with great loot, hard mobs, and a rare chests at the finale. These AMIBS also sell for a decent chunk of change, if you had wanted to sell it instead of use it. 2. BODs (Bulk Order Deeds). These are for your blacksmith and tailoring crafters. You make a certain amount of a certain type of item, and then turn in the deed for said items, and get semi-rare or rare items to sell, display, brag about. Lots of players here love the "BoD game" and make good money/fun from doing them. 3. Tamer Quests. If you are thinking about becoming a tamer here (basically everyone has one) there are specific quests to do in order to increase you bonding slots. Special creatures to find and tame, and then turn in, for a chance to go into another local instance and beat up some stuff for loot and bonding slots. People will always need help with these, so you can make money by either taming the special creature and selling them, or helping with the actual quest itself. 4. Champ Spawns. Awesome, multi-tiered bosses encounters and generate great loot and also are the best way to earn platinum, the special in-game currency for fancy things. This too is a large group effort. 5. RP guilds. We have Orcs, Dwarves, Pirates, Villagers, and a few others. Keep in mind these are just for RP purposes and there is no special stat/skill/ equipment that comes inherent with these guilds. 6. Minning Ore Golems. So there are the basic ores here, from iron to valorite, but there are different ways to mine them aside from the classic way. If you fancy yourself a battle minner, then you can track down, or dig up, ore golems of each ore type, and killing them will yield a nice little pile of the appropriate ore. I had yet to do this, but a battle minner seems like a great way to work the economy and smash things. 7. Amazing holiday events. Nothing is happening right now, but holidays here are great. The staff really goes above and beyond to come up with some great events. 8. A decent amount of player run events. Some are planned, some are impromptu. Keep and eye on the forums and IRC for info on these. 9. Hunting rares. Lots a rare pixels to be found in this game. I am not the one to talk to about this in terms of the best way to do it, but there are those here who would help you. 10. Making boats. You cant buy boats here from NPCs, you have to make them. We have oak wood here, which is used to make boats and other cool things, it also sells for a lot if you wanted to, again, work the economy. To make a boat you need GM tailoring, carpentry and tinkering. Thats all that I can think of right now. Lots of stuff to do on this shard. We have a great community here, lots of people to help you and a few to keep you on your toes. If this sounds like a good place for you, contact me and I will get you in the new players guild, if you so wish it. Welcome and I hope to see you in game sir! ~Krake Vestahl
