So... if this system were changed so that real estate brokers refunded in gold, and the person selling the deed didn't have room in thier bank box for it, would the excess gold simply fall to the ground outside the bank in piles? If so, give em what they want. Already I find stacks of scrolls and regs spilled from overstuffed backpacks in a certain Moonglow Mage Shop; pennies from heaven would be a nice addition to round out the free loot.
Cashing the check returned is somewhat of a pain but not that big of a deal - either way ok for me I like the check amt deduction but that might be harder to code
Stacks of gold do not take up an item count in the bank box. You can essentially have a million piles of 60k gold along with 125 other items.
If that's true (and I assume it is) then I don't understand how the current system makes sense at all. The only reason I can think of for getting a bank check back from the real estate broker instead of gold is to avoid exceeding the item count. If piles of gold don't add to the item count, what is/was the point?
I guess the cheques pop up now because the gold stacks take up item counts in the bank box but shouldn't? This can only be definitively answered by a staff member. Guys?
Why shouldn't stacks of gold count?. . . I mean, this sounds like one of those "rich people problems."
It would simply overfill you bank account with gold, limiting your ability to add new items until you created a bank check, or purchased another house deed. Rammar and I are working on a few solutions to this, and the wider problem of how gold in your bank is handled. You should see this resolved in patch 33 or 34 once we find something we are happy with. It will resolve the problems of gold taking up the item count in your bank, and being able to sell/buy house deeds easily.
