[IMG] A name change deed can be purchased from the hair stylist NPC for the sum of 100,000 gold. It will allow you to permanently change the name of one character. This name change process currently requires the assistance of a gamemaster. Just purchase the deed and page a GM with your characters current name, and desired name.

    Feather: [IMG]

Can be obtained by skinning birds as well as some monsters like Harpies. The drop rate for most common birds is 25 feathers while Eagle's drop 36 and harpies drop 50 feathers. Feathers can also be purchased from Bowyer vendors at a rate of 2 Gold Pieces per Feather and the total amount the vendor carries doubles every hour. They are used along with shafts to make arrows or bolts.

Maybe mention they are buyable from vendors for 2gp, and the quantity in stock doubles every hour.

Lj and buying feathers is way easy to make arrows imo

    Cooking Guide
    [IMG]

Cooking allows for the creation of a variety of delicious food dishes that Sosarians can eat. Eating food on UO Renaissance will improve passive health regeneration according to the values below:
    • Eating food will immediately replenish 5 stamina. So it is quite useful as a mini-refresh potion.
    • Being starved you regenerate 1 hit point every 18-19 seconds (0 hunger).
    • Half full you regenerate 1 hit point every 12-13 seconds (11-12 Hunger).
    • Completely stuffed you can regenerate 1 hit point every 8-9 seconds (20 hunger).

    Raising Cooking:
Cooking is not a difficulty based skill.
Cooking Guide: Cook 1 raw fish steak at a time from 30 to GM skill.

To use the cooking skill, double click any cooking tool (Flour sifter, rolling pin, skillet). These may be purchased from an NPC cook.
For many of the dishes, being near a heat source will be required (oven, fireplace, heating stand, campfire, forge).

If anyone spots anything that could be added to the cooking/food article please let me know, it is a pretty expansive topic and I may have missed a few things.

@Chris - Can you please cross off the ones that are done off the original list so it is easier to see what else needs to be done? Thanks in advance.

    Black Dye Tub

This item was originally imported into UO as an exploit. Now it is given as a tailor BOD reward.

The biggest difference between this dye and regular UO dye, is it has no texture. A garment dyed using this "black" will
not have the shadows or look of a flowing garment when hanging or moving. Will be a solid black in the form of the garment dyed.

Other uses for this "dye" is decoration, either as flooring or to cover other items. To make a solid black looking square. Dye
cut material. Use two material, lay on floor or on object. You will see through the center of the material... Take two more
material, lay on top of first material..Lock down.. Now the hole should be covered and you see a solid black tile.

Scam. I have seen balls of yarn dyed black, carefully placed on top of a regular dye tub so looks like dye color is solid black.
To avoid being scammed this way, always click on top of dye tub...if anything other than dye is on tub, it will be highlighted. You can check this even in the trade window of one player passing an object to another player.

"Going Clear: The Truth About Special Fishing Nets, Monsters, and Spawning Shipwrecks"

As an avid fisherman, I frequently taste the salty sea air. The soft layer of dryness on my skin often lets me forget the uncertainty of what the day's catch will be. However, on this day I felt that I wouldn't catch a single thing. All I managed to fish up were these two, tiny sea monsters that would barely feed my hungry children...

Rather than getting discouraged and giving up, I decided to try something I've never done before. Instead of the traditional method of throwing one at a time with a clear path in front of me, I thought that I should try throwing a few nets at a time. Once I began this process, I quickly saw that things were getting out of hand, so I shot up a flare and asked a nearby angler, Blaise the slayer of anything reptilian, to aid me in my efforts. We had a lot of work to do, but I knew that with determination and resolve, we could conquer anything that Poseidon's depths could throw at us.

After throwing more than 500 nets, I knew that I wouldn't be able to store this much meat in my smoker at home. I was at a loss about what to do...

"Well Blaise, do you have room in your freezer at home?" I inquired.

"No, I'm afraid not. My wife insisted that we go vegan last week, so it's full of frozen kale. We juice now and only eat raw. It's the thing to do up here in northern California. I wish we could move..." Blaise's lamenting trailed off into a sort of half sobbing, half nihilistic moan.

"I understand. I suppose I can always find a poor RRG member to give this to; I know that they typically suffer from hunger during one of their lonely treks into the dangerous KoS lands--I hear they're quite the tax evaders."

    Summation:

While throwing special fishing nets, do shipwreck spawns get blocked if there is a monster's corpse or monster itself blocking the area?

    Yes.

    What should I do?

Be sure to cast your nets with clear ocean in front of you, and throw the net at least eight tiles away from your vessel. [Pro tip: use a relative location macro to cast your nets.]
