How can telamon make changes to field combat? It's not possible and it's just how pvp has been and how it is.
Auto correct, that's what's called a typo. Notice how you still know what I meant. Edit: are you interested in having a discussion for the betterment of pvp or is this just going to be another dick measuring contest as long as you're in here?
During this era on OSI, the same heat of battle rules applied to gates as recall. This means that people couldn't hop in a gate as soon as they saw a fight they didn't like. Applying this rule properly would increase the number of fights that didn't just end with one side running. It would also make it much more possible for people to bring groups of reds to justice, which would help cut down with the PKing problem we currently have. While not related to call-ins to any great degree, fixing the heat of battle rules would greatly increase the quality of pvp on the server.
I understood fekk perfectly: consentual pvp = both parties have to agree aka arena duels or pit fights etc. And then there was the double negation, which was a kind of grammar mistake, but nothing worth discussing. Wouldnt heat of battle lead to even less pvp? As you mentioned, people here dont want to die, so they only get out if it's safe. Heat of battle --> less safe.
you should pm telamon about it and see if you can convince him to ban us from the forums about it. pussy. anyway, it's silly to say that changes to game mechanics don't impact how people play the game. players act predictably in that they tend to do what works the best. in this case, call-ins work the best. if the game mechanics were such that cal-ins did not work the best, then people would not do it. i know i don't really have to hold your hand for this and that you're just playing stupid, but i did it anyway. you're welcome. :]
hey sita69 just make really nice runebooks and keep them all in your bank, then only carry 1 bank rune and you should be set until you obtain a blessed runebook!
I wonder what would happen if all voice programs used for communicating and calling drops were prohibited.. Only allow IRC and/or in game chat systems. Don't know how it would be enforced, but wonder what effect it would have on how everyone went about engaging and fighting.
It would be pretty rough at first, I'm sure. The only way to do it would be to build a custom client that actually checks for, or disables, the microphone on your system. If it could check for it, it could automatically boot you from the game but that's still pretty far fetched. Serious players would just run a skype call on their phone/alt devices or whatever. There's pretty much nothing you could do. I would have liked to see the in-game chat developed more, in lieu of IRC. I think that would work wonders for keeping folks engaged in the actual client.
