Jiro Dreams of Sushi is such an awesome documentary. I've been trying to convince the wife to put Japan on our vacation list for years. Little did I know that all I had to do was show her this.

An amazing documentary indeed. Flights from LAX to Tokyo can be had for $500 right now. I'm going in November.

Yea but even if you travel like a student it's still expensive as hell.

I spent 5000 canadian there in two weeks staying in hostels, mind you the train pass was like 2000 alone (It was the one where you can ride every train from the subway in a small town to the shinkansen bullet trains)

Also got really drunk there a lot.

If you'd like to know about some pretty cool spots, let me know. I went to go see my buddy who lived in Tokyo, did a few days there then hit Hiroshima, Kyoto, and a few small stops in between.
