Splinter Shard - Alternative Concept (Poll)

The dude can’t fix his current shard and certainly can’t make the fixes he’s promised for years. How is he supposed to start, run and maintain a splinter shard? Why would he “allow” anyone else to compete (via starting, running and maintaining a splinter shard) with his current population?

This thread is just like all the others trying to implement changes to pvp, archery, thieving, housing, factions, carpentry, etc... a waste of keyboard strokes. I’m pretty sure you all know it too, maybe it’s just a fun thought?

I'm with you man. I am well aware that the likelihood of this or pretty much anything someone on the forums suggests - actually making it to fruition are basically non existent.

But straight up, it gives me joy to think about this shit, so I throw it out there and if the idea brings joy to someone else then cool, if it makes for a good thread then cool, if it gets people, like yourself, who aren't active as much as they once were - engaging again then cool.

Just adding to the tapestry of this place I guess man.

And then there is legendary status....this status is only achievable by very few elite members of the UOR community.

These legends are so legendary, this phase is named after the legend himself, The Shadowjack phase.... where you've been here since the beginning, quit, come back, you're refreshed and full of UOR patriotism, then you realize that thieving is still broken and Chris STILL isn't going to fix anything, then the apathy stage, then full on ragequit/give everything away/walk away completely and delete chars. The Shadowjack Phase could last as long as months, years, or even as short as a matter of days

You don’t understand the history of free uo shards, where Telamon and a majority of this population came from, promises made nor do I think you care.

I wouldn’t start a server because I know full well I couldn’t run it. I don’t post the negativity because I want the shard to die, I’d be stoked if it came back and promises were fulfilled. I had great times here when I first started and probably sounded a lot like you. Take a moment and realize the age of the accounts of the people who are “the whiners”

I understand you want this 30 y/o game to keep evolving and I’m sure when it started back in 2013 it was promised to but that was a long time ago. Things change. Peoples lives change.

If you have kids then you would understand or you should inderstand how that changes ones priorities. At one point this shard may have been the apple of Chris’ eyes but no longer.

I was an active player of SIege Perilous and is the server where I ended my OSI days cause it offered something new.

I'm starting feeling the same here (manage different accouts, different chars, etc). I joined factions and I'm enjoyning again because is something new to do here.

Probably I'll do a wipe out of chars and only keep 1 char on my account to enjoy everything.

For me a server like Siege would be perfect.
