They had a macro with 3 thieves stealing them off me, drop to the ground(to cut the trade gump out, making it easier), with another walking from me to the house they placed just for the occasion. It was admittedly really well executed.

    Hail friends

It was a dark Friday night and I was letting my eye wander at Occllo bank. After some shopping, I spotted a rune and key combination that was simply too tantalizing to bypass. I threw caution to the wind and made my move brazenly in the open well within the sight of all the people around. But it was a success. I grabbed both and hid away until I could make my escape to the rune location.

With my heart beating slightly faster, I cast Kal Ort Por and targeted the rune. It was dark where I appeared and before I could get my bearings *whack* I was steamrolled by three people from FL. They killed me, looted my paltry belongings, slew my steed, and left for greener pastures through a Gate they opened. Having nothing to lose and being stuck in Ice Dungeon, I followed them to a small home with a patio just north of East Britain. They went inside for a moment and left. Could they have really just lead a thief to their drop house?

I found myself a wandering healer and I used my Stealth skill to approach the house from a distance. And I waited. Sure enough, within a few minutes, Cecil of FL returned and went inside. Seeing my opportunity, I followed behind him. Within a few moments, he was gone again and I was free and clear. I alerted a friend to my whereabouts and when he arrived, it was time.

Though it was just the spoils of their murder spree, we got everything out, including the 5 of each reagent I had lost, and it was off to Occllo to laugh about the impatient, careless murderers who ended up getting got over 5 reagents and a dead horse.

    So it was you.

I noticed the homes of a lot of vets. Did you stalk specific victims or come across random opportunities?

The jeweler no longer exists. I was glad to hang myself together. After the last theft, I gave all the loot back and due to the gentleness and compassion towards the victims, I see no point in this. The jeweler is removed and all things are given to my enemies!

Thank you to the Cookie Monster!

I want to share my experience this morning. It was one of excitement, heartbreak, irritation, learning and back to excitement & thankfulness :)

I log in this morning to do my daily BOD runs and notice a cookie tray sitting on the roof of my sandstone house. I thought to myself...well that's something I've never left out before (i'm one to keep my houses clean without random stuff sitting out). Come to find out that all my 5k of each reg, gold that I admit-tingly stupid left in locked down chest were all gone! Yet, I find a blue bag within my reg chest with a key, rune and a book written by Cookie Monster with I might add a wonderful recipe for their world famous chocolate chip cookies! Frustrated, I log onto a toon that i didn't much care if I died and hit the rune that was provided in the bag...I come to a small wooden house just North of the Brit crossroads with one HELL of a Bakery! I sorted through what I saw in front of me and come to find my stolen goods in a nice white Christmas Bag with a note congratulating me for finding the lost recipie!!

I got all my stolen goods back, learned a value lesson on making my what I thought was secure home even more secure and had a really good laugh about it all.

Thank you Cookie Monster for the heart attack, roller coaster of emotions and skillful thieving. :)

Now I wouldnt usually post a house loot on here that came from an unlocked door...
But this was such a good time it deserves to be shared.

My un-named guildmate messaged for some help, as he had found an unlocked door.

    upload_2021-3-10_19-49-46.png

Examining the goods he noticed multiple treasure maps of every caliber, massive amounts of nets, wands, mibs.

    upload_2021-3-10_19-52-22.png
I show up with our trusty pack llama to help finish the haul, we then went out of our way to buy flour, bread, etc to trash the place.
My petty associate also swapped the paintings on the walls.
We posed for a precious memory:

The mark heard news of our exploits, and promptly messaged us.
To show good thief face to the community and to ease the blow of a proverbial dry loot, we decided we would give his cherished maps back, and left a picture message in UOR discord for him to find us.
We also encouraged anyone else to come contest this treasure hidden within the fabled llama.

After an amount of time and much UOR chat deliberation, he approached the docks alone and thanked us for our legitimate businessmen ways.

But then, the cherry on top of the cake....
@Puck appears from nowhere and steals a slayer axe from this fellow.

uo giveth and uo taketh away.

GODBLESS UOR IN ALL HER MAJESTY..

Thieving Perfected Post #1337: "The Reverse Heist"

Hello everyone. I've been sitting on the following screenshots since 2018. I give them to you today...
You see, I too enjoy sneaking into homes unknowingly. However, loot is not always the greatest reward.

Today I share the tale of a chap named Kris. I do not remember the details of how I gained entry into his home, but the details do not matter here.
I crept through the small tower and learned that the second story and roof were entirely bare of furniture and decoration. I could not in good conscience steal from a man who is poorer than myself, so I decided to do a good deed: I called upon my associates Hemingway and Hunter S, and we decided to decorate his house and become his roommates.

Here is the result of our hard work after secretly hauling in furniture and celebratory foods:

    [IMG] [IMG]

After we decorated the home, we waited for Kris to return, and eventually he did. He was so surprised by what he saw, he announced it to the IRC channel.

    Shortly after, he said hello.

Kris began trying to make sense of the situation...

Sensing that we were not welcome, Hemingway invited Kris upstairs for some food and wine, and to cool down a bit.

Unfortunately, our friendship did not last very long, Kris was not impressed by our gracious hospitality, and we were promptly evicted.

Kris, if you're still around... I hope you enjoyed seeing this from our point of view a few years later. And just so you know, we forgive you and would be happy to move back in if you have a spare room or two.

For everyone else: please leave your doors unlocked, or at the very least, let them stay open for just a few seconds longer before you close them. Thieves are not all bad: possessions are temporary, but experiences last a lifetime.
