Ok here is my piece! I thought I'd do something based off one of my strongest UO memories. This was a moment back in 1998 on my very first day playing after my brother just installed the T2A CD-ROM. I watched him play first. We've owned the previous Ultima DOS games before (VII + VIII: Pagan) so I had a pretty good grip on the gameplay already. I just wanted to be a Blacksmith. And a MINER!! "Holy crap! I can farm my own iron and make my own weapons and armour and be all badass!! I'm gonna make a Viking Sword" So I took to the mountains directly North of the Brit Cemetery towards Despise and had the time of my life harvesting resources. Little 14-year-old me was unwise to the dangers of other players. So when two awesome looking guys on black horses (!!!!!) and hallys rode up and started chucking fireballs at me, well...this is basically how it felt. I ran as fast as my 28k modem speed legs would let me. I did not survive. Oh, and the dead miner down there in the corner is a tribute to the other newb who was up there with me at the time. He kept running up to try and steal my ore when I had to hop it to the forge. Just being a total annoying dick. When the PK's rolled up he actually started attacking me too. As if him "siding" with them was going to save him. Seeing his dumb ghost oOoO past a minute later was actually hilarious. Oh well. Such was the UO life and my junior high school years! Hope you enjoy this piece
!!!! Thanks for sharing this masterpiece. Your tale is the epitome of Ultima and your art skills are very very impressive.
@Tiago your work of art really hits home for me brings me back to my childhood memories of also being a miner living in fear of being murdered. This made my day you have my vote bud. Love the purp doo rag!
Wow, that's incredible and actually brought back nostalgia for me on Britain x-roads when I was a newbie and having 2 pks named Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum come through throwing fireballs and dropping noobs.
Thanks guys. It was so fun doing this piece. It's actually inspired me to look into maybe doing some more like this. Just classic UO moments and memories we can all relate to
Yes! Also you can place multiple times, each piece of art stands alone in the judging, so feel free to submit them here and rake in some platinum!
