Question About Fishing

Does the say feature not work in razor here? When I add a line that says forward in macro nothing happens, but if I type it manually, the ship moves.

i use Unfurl Sail to move forward, that works as say command for sure

I keep my key and my runebook in the hold. If I die and can't ghost sail to land before the corpse decays, all I lose is the reagents which are easy to replace since I also keep replacement regs and fishing poles in the hold. So dying is really just a time loss nuisance. As a mage, you don't lose much at all.

that's a shame, I thought I found a use for Archery.. E-Bolts take out serps with ease and a wellie inst too dangerous.

@RIN and @Kirby have made some good points, although I do like the idea of a bard on board.

To each his own. That's what I love about fishing! There's an almost unlimited number of ways to do it!

I don't know why I can't get him to talk. He talks but the tiller man does't obey unless I manually type it.

I figured it out, instead of copying another macro, which is what I did, it made me record saying forward myself and know it works. But I think people in this thread has been telling me "fish stories", becuz I'm at 84 show real and haven't caught a serpent or kraken yet.

WOW! Literally 6 seconds after I posted that, I caught a serpent!

Of my 3 fishers, two are bards. One is a Peace, other is Provo:

Fisher 1: Mage/Med/Eval/Resist/Fish/Music/Provo
Fisher 2: Mage/Med/Eval/Resist/Fish/Music/Peace
Fisher 3: Mage/Med/Eval/Resist/Fish/Hiding/Tracking

Fisher 1 was going to be a tamer, but meh. I just don't want to put the time in GMing taming. Plus the pets get annoying in the boat. And they break MIB chests on the deck if you're not careful.

Archery still works fine. Heavy Crossbow of force or higher still hits like a truck on serps and krakens. I use it mostly because I just enjoy having one toon that actually uses it, and it's a good skill when on a boat imo.

Sure Margery gets the job done faster though.

As far as having 3 accounts fishing... Why do you make all 3 mages as well? Are you constantly switching between clients to ebolt the mobs?

I was assuming you just have one mage as your mob killer. I can imagine switching between clients to ebolt mobs is very efficient?

People run macros that make the 2 standby fisher mages automatically cast EB on mobs.

I used a special fishing net and pulled up a deep sea serpent and a sea serpent, neither had a damn thing other than 50gp and 4 regs and a single fish steak. Is this normal?

I have never had any come up empty. It may be a rare thing. However, don't forget to skin them cause you get horned and sometimes barbed leather from them.

Yes that's common. You have a chance to pull something good but many times its nothing. Save your nets until you a good qty of them.

It may be because my fishing is only 88.9 show real. And yeah I skinned them, but was still disappointed.

Horned leather comes from serpents and deep sea serpents, barbed leather comes from Lock Lake Monsters

Nets aren't affected by fishing skill. I toss nets with a tamer with no fishing at all. Its all up to the RNG. Sometimes you score and you get good loots, sometimes you get duds that give one lone serpent. I always go out with between 25 and 50 nets.

Does highly peculiar fish have any value? I ate one yesterday and nothing happened. Got another one today.
