I don't think I can really articulate how happy it makes me to see newer players joining Yew as a result of the events surrounding the shrine this past weekend.

The Shrine of Justice has been corrupted! I will be leading the expedition to cleanse it and I hope to see Yew there!

I will be somewhat swamped in RL for the next few weeks. I will be in training and testing until February 20th, so I will only be semi-active during this time.

However, I would still like to hold a charity event at the Abbey on February 14th. The Abbey symbolizes the Principle of Love and is the traditional home of the Candle of Love and the Eternal Flame of Love, so we can't ignore this holiday no matter how much I may dislike it in RL. Since I had hoped to hold a Winter Clothing Drive and Soup Kitchen event, this seems like the perfect time and place for it. So save up your low/mid-level random magic armor until then, please! GM craftsmen may wish to donate exceptional armor for the event as well. All donations/drops of any material are welcome, really.

I would like to encourage everyone to participate in this, not just citizens of Yew. On February 14th, clear out your bank box and drop armor INSIDE the bank at Empath Abbey for other "poor" (new-ish) players to pick up. At random times throughout the day, I will drop several items around the Abbey and place bowls of soup and stew on the tables.

I already have a rather large collection of armor to donate, so if anyone has a GM Item ID alt, please contact me so we can arrange a time before the event to get some of this armor identified. Items need not be identified, but I think it would be a nice courtesy to extend.

Yes, there will certainly be people who will exploit this event, but we will still rely on the honor system and ask that people only take what they will actually use and leave the rest for others.

Feel free to offer input on how to improve this event. As the date draws closer and details become more solid, I will post an announcement in the Player Run Events forum.
