Lord British grows ever more impatient with these two squatters. I was once again dispatched to deal with them on his castle grounds. This time I found the two love birds attempting to hide a stones throw from the shops.
    4.jpg 3.jpg

With few targets out and about this morning, I headed to my favorite spawn in search of treasures. I located Crackity Jones, making quick work of these blood elementals. After following him for a few minutes, he attacked a boss diseased elemental. After gating in his friend Lissandra for help, I was able to get a quick platinum steal off of her as she gated to Skara Brae. I met up with her later in an attempt to sell her this coin back for 5K (a fair price if I say so myself). She countered with an offer of 2k and our friendship would remain intact. Having to decline such a paltry sum of gold in exchange, she left… along with our friendship :(. Such is the life of a rogue, few friends and many enemies.

Apologies if this is long or anything, its just my first REAL adventure here on UO:R and also my biggest acquisition (ever... so far).

Today I came trotting into Moonglow looking for some conversation to eavesdrop. Lo and behold, a couple of well armed and armored folks are talking about some kind of excursion into a hellish wasteland. They seem keen on opening doors for me to enter, so I figured why not, I could use a little adventure in my life. Ocllo is just so slow lately, and that one guard woman REALLY isn't interested in my advances.

I step through their portal and find myself at some kind of meeting place, a stable of sorts! Though I am struck by its beauty and uniqueness, I don't have time to explore or I might miss my first real adventure! This small corner suited my needs while the others prepared and gathered their strength.

As I sat in my corner I was pondering: just how well equipped ARE these people, to so readily enter the fiery depths? They're quite fearless if you ask me, I barely mustered the courage to get this far... here, their home! I quickly realized after peeking into a pack or two that they were perhaps amongst the most capable group I had ever had the pleasure of adventuring with. I was excited, and my hands were getting clammy at where my curiosity had brought me.

While we were gathering our forces an innocent passerby stumbled into their midst. Several of my compatriots immediately insisted on her murder! What gastly news! I thought I had found a group of honorable warriors, not the slayers of innocents! I knew that if I had the chance I would enact some measure of justice. But how? When? If I revealed my disloyalty now my "friends" would surely take off my head and be done with the matter!

I must play along. I must move in the shadows, wait for the proper moment to strike, and take what opportunities I may.

Before long our forces had fully gathered and the adventure began. First we traveled through another portal (like the one I arrived through) and I found myself standing on the edge of a forest in the riverlands, amidst several small lakes. The rest of my party cracked jokes and performed flourishes for our entertainment, but I was most curious about a fellow wandering about digging holes in the ground. I hadn't the faintest idea how this all worked, mind you, so for those of you more seasoned than myself please understand: I thought he was their clown.

I sat off to the side, hardly amused by this, trying to make myself unnoticed. Suddenly, he seemed to have found something. The rallying cries filled forest as the entire troup stormed off after him. And then they did something I did not expect... they all jumped down into a hole he had found in the ground! I was terrified, I must admit. But I was lost here in this forest, and with no way home I held my breath and plugged my nose... and dove in head first.

The system of tunnels we arrived in were filled with creatures of all sorts, but worst of them were the demons! I had heard tales of such monsters but I had never thought them true! I pushed myself to the limits, keeping a safe distance and slinking along the darkest path I could find while my allies slaughtered everything they saw. The blood... the screams...

The tunnels became a vast cave network. We seemed to be getting into the very heart of this temple of evil. My allies were beginning to reach the limits of their strength. I witnessed one, two, three go down it seemed while still the strongest battled on, fearless! The battle was won however and those who fell were tended to. Still I held back, but my clammy hands were beginning to twitch.

The group entered a massive cavern, the largest by far. In the center was a huge pyramid topped with flame. I dared not go near it. Another hard fought battle atop the pyramid, more of the group fell including several of their mounts and even a few of the toughest fighters. Still they prevailed. I almost felt guilty for not aiding them.

Beyond the pyramid awaited something that is certain to have changed my life forever.

Amid a lake of lava and fire, surrounded by thick obsidian walls and a flowing lava falls, littered with the skeletons of the damned and torture devices of a kind I never imagined in my darkest nightmares. There my "allies" fought nearly to their end. As the battle commenced I watched even the hardiest, even the most powerful of the group go down. It looked hopeless. I knew my time had come.

I moved in, as quietly as I could, and placed myself in the best possible place to pluck from the fallen all that I might. Truthfully had I not been so terrified and fearing for my every step (thanks to the deadly fire traps which had caused the fall of several of the group) I would have done better for myself.

In the end I am sure that their victory was worthwhile to them, and I wish them the best in their endeavors so long as they do not continue to murder innocents. Myself I managed to pluck a few prized weapons from the fallen, which I had witnessed being used in the slaying of an innocent and also in killing the spawns of hell beneath the world. As such they are treasures of a sort one simply does not sell. I could probably have done better had I my wits about me, but life is precious to me. My own most of all.

I made it out alive. Thank the gods!

(Thanks mates, that was a blast. I was sure I was caught at least once in the middle of it all, and also at the end, but lady luck carried me home. Thanks also to EVERYONE in this thread, you are an inspiration!)

(PS - My ehem... stage name... was Fabio.)

(PPS - What in hell is a repond?)

I applaud your first tale of adventure. It was a very good read and an adventure extraordinaire. I believe, you are the first one to sneak into a lvl7 map.

Welcome to this shard and to 5D. I hope to read more of your adventures soon. :)

Glad to see two active new faces in this thread and ingame.

@Skouros : A repond is what you want, it's a very expensive slayer type for humanoid monsters (doubling the dmg per swing). I have sold a similar mid-class axe force repond once for 600k. Check this out for details.

Btw, I did the biggest heist here disguised as VLADIMIR. Fabio isn't that bad!

This is by far my favorite thread on the forum. Also my favorite playstyle. I wish I had the time and patience to pursue great stories like these ones.

My day was once again consumed with the task of dealing with those unsavory types that wish to hoard bulk order deeds. I found this scoundrel in Jhelom as he attempted to sleep in the Inn without renting a room. Another 12 bulk order deeds were confiscated in hopes that he will no longer stray from the path of righteousness.
    3.jpg 2.jpg

Later I found these two in Shame attempting to run through multiple diseased bloods. As one elemental neared its death, I mounted my ethereal and ran in for the steal, eyes set on his shiny platinum. Completing a successful steal, I used the gate they had provided to Trinsic Royal and stashed the coin in my bank box.

Aye, I believe this was created by Russell as part of his "no trees" file. I don't think it was intended for us… but it sure does help!

(Thank you, I enjoyed the experience immensely! I'd love to do it again some time (though I am sure you would rather I did not *nod*.))

Today I had another interesting encounter. A fellow on top of a bank thought he was safe and sound, being so close by to other players and a patrolling guard. I decided to confuse the guard with a number of wooden boxes which I purchased from a nearby salesman. The fellow, who was transfixed by some important thought or other, neglected to notice my hands deftly plucking gold coins out of his pack.

To the tune of 19,000 gold.

(It took me 86 steals to get the entire stack, at an average rate of 220 gold per steal. Seems legit.)

I also had a marvelous little jaunt to the site of a "level 3 map". I don't really know to what the three warriors were babbling about, but they opened a portal to a somewhat familiar area I have been to before known as Buccaneer's Den and began digging in the ground. Out poured a number of deadly foes, which I nimbly dodged as the warriors fought them. While the warriors were distracted I pulled a few magical bows and a hefty magical mace out of the treasure chest they had found, and then took my good fortune at their confusion as to where the bows had gone to as a sign to make my escape.

I had a few minutes to kill tonight and decided to give the halloween spawn in Skara Brae a shot. Despite there being some serious wetboys and killers in the area, I was able to steal a very fine weapon. The hordes were focused on killing one of the boss NPCs while I had my eyes on a Power/silver axe. Without having the ability to disarm my opponent, I was forced to study his tactics in order to take his prized weapon. Seeing that he was often using potions to heal and cure himself this had to be my way in. With a bit of skill and luck, I grabbed his weapon and ran for the docks with killers on my heels. Never stopping to look back I eventually recalled to Moonglow and stashed this weapon. Later, I was lucky enough to sell the weapon back to its rightful owner for a nice price of 100k. Good luck to the rest of my fellow thieves out there this halloween!

Today I fell an half-god! He was probably busy watching out for Medusa to slay, but still the result counts!

    Censored.jpg

Naturally, I am very well aware of the almighty NPC thief master and his uncompromising rule, which is widely known as his "No-Counts-You-Cunts" policy. (Rumor has it, that his beloved pet dog was killed by a undead crazy cat lady and since then he is a bit strict in that matter.) Anyway, sometimes it's worth to break the rules and one has to act fast for the price:

    SilverPowerExecAxe.jpg

The punishment for this bloody action came swift and it was much worse than simple death! The soft-spotted thief master obviously wanted to make an example and choose his most gruelsome instrument of torture...

... but meanwhile, the half-god came back to life by divine intervention (Medusa is still out there somewhere) and a good trade under fair conditions was negotiated: finally a blessed 1157 robe complements my blood red tribal mask. I think that's worth the punishment, which certainly will resolve soon in exactly 40 hours.

As my day was winding to a close I had a moment of clarity. Before me stood a man full of purpose. He seemed to be headed home through another of those portals I keep running into ((ooh that was a good one!)). I took the opportunity to reach into his pouch just as he stepped through and to my good fortune my hand came out holding a jumble of green coins.

((Atiki, mate, that's a dangerous maneuver pulling all that out of Ocllo at once. Should pick a more remote bank location next time! 27 holiday coins, cha-ching!))

((On another note, because I posted it in a sort of odd place I guess I thought I would share it here as well. I made a pretty cool overlay setup that is aimed at thieves in particular. You can even modify it to use different colors, or if you're handy with photoshop you can customize your own. Its a "Thief HUD" or "Thief Reticle" to assist with our rather unique style of play. Heck, its probably useful for more than just thieves. I can see uses for a spell range indicator or a simple skill timer counter. Maybe some of you can think of more uses.))
