Could you drop healing for yourself and do this

GM swords
GM tactics
GM Vet
GM Animal Lore
GM Lumberjack
30 Magery (to use gate scrolls I assume)
70 Taming to use Frenzy Ostards

Just an Idea. You would rely on Pots for healing yourself but you would gain quite bit of damage from GM lumberjacking

Interesting idea to go without any form of normal healing... maybe stock up on heal wands as well. However, you still need 80 taming for the frenzy, maybe try this:

GM swords
90 tactics and use any weapon with +10 or more.
GM Vet
GM Animal Lore
GM Lumberjack
30 Magery for recall only, need 50+ magery to successfully gate around. Also, you would be forced to take 40int... not ideal for the rest of this build.

Since any other hit releases paralyze, your para blow will only last for about 1 second. will that be enough to noticeably interrupt damage output? What about using macing to get crushing blows and drain stam? might help with some higher end creatures to reduce their dex?

I guess it's just my affinity for fighting with canes talking...

@Jupiter you are correct about macing being a great option here.

My main Keza runs macing because MOST bosses only have 100-300 dex. After the first 30-60 seconds of a boss fight, you see their physical damage output get cut in half. When I lore most bosses at half health, they have 0 stamina remaining which makes it pretty easy to heal.

After a month here i been refusing to be a full tamer and i love to swing a weapon so i been testing over many skill set ups for this, and i think i just found the most powerfull combo on DPS (Damage Per Second).

Fencing 100.0 (No need for Lumber wich takes extra skill points and is almost the same DMG)
Tactics 100.0 (Unknown bonus to DMG)
Anatomy 100.0 (+20% DMG)
A. Taming 100.0 (Nightmare + 2 Dragons)
A. Lore 100.0
Veterinary 100.0
Magery 70.0 (Mark, Recall, Gate Scrolls and heals for ur self u should never take DMG)
Meditation 30.0 (U can only gate every 4-6 mins so be sure where u r going!!!)

Str. 80
Dex. 100 (3 sec bandage on pets, thats 25% more healing than regular tamers)
Int. 45 (Just Enough to cast Gate, more than enough to heal ur self twice to full if u r in trouble)

With lower slayers this build does 45%-65% more DMG than a Tamer with Discordance, Taking down monsters in Seconds and... thanks to the fast healing, ur Pets can now Tank pretty much Everything.

Leather Armor ofc since u r not getting Hit and if u dont want to be carrying around ur dragons, just ur mare to tank and ur weapons for DPS are good Enough to do as much DMG as any tamer.

This is perfect for Ironman AMIBS, and u do it so fast and easy if u have a Silver weapon that u even feel ur cheatting xD.

Hi @Luis Ordaz that does look like a high DPS combo. I encourage you to try it in the DPS challange to see how it stack up vs. some builds presented by other top players on this server.

I'm doing just that right now. Macing Tactics Music Discord Taming Lore Vet. Regular heal wands are extremely easy to obtain. Macing and Discord reduce damage pretty drastically and macing gives you melee defense with the wand at the expense of somewhat lower dps. IIRC, combat ability exactly caps with 120 str and 125 tactics.

I'd also like to point out that archery hit % maxes out at 2 tiles, so it is a good fit for ossy tanking. Particularly with accuracy bonuses, the hit % compensates for the lack of weapon speed.

What about a Dexxer/Tamer PvP template? Anyone have any ideas?

I would think dragons are the best for PvP due to fire breath, maybe something like this.

Still one of my favorite builds after all this time! Farming with an ossytank may not be the best gold per hour, but it might just be the most (fun/gold) per hour

Made it through an ironman of a gem filled mine with nothing but ossytank!

What's the best stat build for this style, Keza? 100/25/100?

Pretty much all my characters are 100str, 100dex, 25int. The 100dex is actually the most important part as it allows 3 second vet heals. Without the heals, ostards go down quick.

What do you think of this?
