Remove Instance IRC messages

There should be a big weird time delay on it then. Otherwise I know "oh google is out PKing", or "Oh, google just died and will be at his house to res", etc..

I mean this is a risk that every pvper takes when they leave there home. This is why it is a fel server we all want that risk. For PK/PVPERS I do not think the message boards are that bad. For PvMers this is just unwanted attention. While I do not think tmaps and instances should be called out in IRC I also believe that no instance should shoot you out into the tram center there should always be some factor of risk in this game

If it's a fel server and you want risk then you should be for mechanics to prevent reds from macroing murder counts and killing exactly 9 people each day as a means to circumvent any risk. You should also be against weapon blesses for factions. I'm not saying you are against those points, but they add "risk".

These IRC messages are about information. Information is very powerful in this game. It's the reason I can know where you guys farm, precisely the right time to be at google's favorite PK spots to assasinate him via a gate to town, and how I know when I can sneak into your houses and loot everything. You might see "notification that someone just got PK'd that promotes PVP", but I see "more information I can use to know someone's whereabouts that I shouldn't have from the game".

How about something generic and fun like This past hour Renaissance has seen X treasure maps completed, Y Players Murdered and Z Players Slain in lawful combat.

Hell, throw in players killed by monsters and monsters killed by players too. Just exclude data from characters in houses.

General statistics, sure why not.

I actually think that's a great idea because it gives you an idea of the activity going on with the server without being linkable to any one player.

Has anyone ever asked why these messages actually exist?

Yeah, that was my only takeaway from this thread. Information is great but TMI is not, in a game like this.

TreeHugger, the messages exist as a way to inform the players of the kinds of things going on here. It wasn't designed to be taken advantage of in the ways people have done. Back when it was just the Moonglow Arena, this was even more silly to see the messages but honestly I remember back then having more fun duels, even with enemies.

I'm for keeping all things IN game. External communication, announcements, and the like can go away as far as I'm concerned.
