UPDATE 5/9/2018:
Ahoy! Most of the prizes have been distributed however several remain. I will be seeking out the remaining anglers today. After today those who have not received their prize(s) will be responsible for contacting me either thru IRC or forum PM. After a week, any unclaimed prizes will be rolled back into the tourney funds.
Also, trophies for the Leaderboard winners have been acquired!!! (Thanks @Samorite)

UPDATE 5/7/2018:
Greetings Anglers! Thank you for participating in Tournament. The Final Leaderboard and Log has been updated. Over the next few days, I will be verifying winning fish ingame. If you have a winning fish, please contact me in IRC for verification or lock down on your steps/roof and forum PM me the location. Once all fish have been verified I will handing out prizes. I will be reviewing Fishing Feats next, then pulling numbers for the Fish Log Lotto. I also will be requesting trophies for the Leaderboard winners. Please be patient since the wrap up could take several days to complete.

A message from the Tournament Director:
The first fishing tournament was held in May 2013 thus this is the tournament's 6th anniversary. The prize pool for the 1st tourney was only 600k but back then it was a huge booty. The upcoming tourney will be the 45th with over 204 million in prizes given away over the last 6 years.

There have been many generous sponsors over the years and support from the UOR community & staff. Many thanks to those who have supported by donating, hyping, and/or participating. I couldn't have done it without you. Also thanks to Chris and staff who took the time to code in fish weights and angler marks on big fish. They also helped popularize fishing by developing the outstanding ancient MIB system we have on UOR.

Big Fish datestamp must be between 5/1/2019 and 5/6//2019.
Winning fish will be verified ingame so keep fish until end of tourney.
Mounting a trophy fish will remove the datestamp.

Fishing Feats: How to win some of the prizes will not be announced rather awarded to the angler who accomplishes a pre-determined feat. For example, there might be a prize for the angler who turns in the 100th fish. The angler who does the pre-determined action will win the prize. I will be submitting a list of these pre-determined feats and prizes to UO:R Staff before the Tournament begins to ensure there isn't a perception of a bias in awarding prizes. My advice is to participate and turn in fish no matter how big or small.​

Every fish weighed in is eligible for the Fish Log Lotto!!!
A random number generator will be used to determine the winners based on when the angler turned in their fish.
For example, if an angler turned in the 15th fish and the generator produces a 15, that angler wins.

Jeebs Pirate Tower: Located just west of the Shrine of Honor and next to the Pirate Fort. Filled to the brim with goods including a full set of treasure maps, a full set of aMIBs, and a treasure map rune library. Many thanks to @Jeebs for the generous donation. Disturbing stories from the seas have been reported at several ports. Rumors are circulating that the dreaded pirates have learned how to tame dragons! Several scout ships have been dispatched to confirm these tales given drunken sailors were the source.
UPDATE: Tis true! Several Pirate Tamer ships have been located and the crews destroyed. Twas reported that a Pirate's book of taming was recovered.

Rules:
* The tournament will be held Wednesday, May 1st to Monday, May 6th, 2019. All fish weighed in must have a datestamp on or between those dates. (Note: datestamp is based on UO:R time, US Central, -5 UTC)
* Prizes will be distributed the following week.
* Fish weighed in will be credited to the angler, not who turns. Anyone can submit fish for any angler. Angler must be present to claim winnings.
* Use as many fishers as you like. Again, fish is credited to angler marked on fish. (some players use more than 1 fisher)
* An angler can only place 1 fish in biggest and smallest categories. For example, Fisher X might have a 10 stone and a 12 stone fish however only the 10 stone will be credited in the smallest category. In addition, Fisher X can also place in biggest with a 199 stone fish.
* No sign up required! Simply post a screen shot of your catch but keep it for prize reward and... DO NOT MOUNT FISH. Mounting a fish will erase datestamp. Fish will need to be verified ingame to collect your prize. Only fish weight will only be recorded. You keep your catch.
* Anglers tied will split the prizes of the two respective places. For example, Anglers tied for 2nd place will split the winnings for 2nd and 3rd place.

Notes on Fishing:
Double-click on a fishing pole, then click on a body of water. If successful, you will catch a fish. You might catch something more interesting than a fish. Success with this skill also depends on the availability of fish in that specific area.
0-65 - On land you will fish up Magic Fish, and Normal Fish.
80+ - Sea Serpents (No SoS Message), Special Fishing Nets.
90+ - Treasure Maps 100 - Messages in a Bottle (aka MIB) / Waterstained SoS Message
95+ - You can reel in Big Fish which can be used to make Trophies via Taxidermy Kits.
You can get to 100 skill/Grandmaster fishing from land. Once you have attained 95+ fishing, acquire a boat. They are player-made (check player vendors, forums, or IRC). You will need a boat to get offshore into deep water to catch Big Fish.

Tis the hour to mediate on the fish which is not for good fortune and great justice in coming tourney. Collect your thoughts and send them to the fish, and fortune may find you too!

so at the end of the last tournament i had a winning fish 5 minutes too late.
