Thank you for participating in the 2019 Memorial Day Fishing Tournament. The final Leaderboard and Log has been updated.

I need to verify winning Leaderboard fish ingame before those prizes are distributed. Depending on schedules this could take a few days so please be patient. Anglers with winning fish can lock them on their steps or roof and PM me the location to speed up this process. Once the winning fish are verified ingame, prize distribution will begin.

Later this afternoon, I will be pulling #s for the Fish Log Lotto and contacting winners for fish verification and prizes. ​

The Maine Monument commemorates the 260 American sailors who perished on February 15th, 1898 when the USS Maine exploded while in harbor in Havana, Cuba. Though the cause of the explosion remains unknown, many (including popular New York City newspapers) blamed Spain for the attack. ~ The event was a catalyst that accelerated a diplomatic impasse between the United States and Spain, and the United States Congress declared war on Spain on April 25th, 1898. The war would last 8 months. ~ Newspaper publisher William Randolph Hearst called for a public memorial to the Maine, and the sculpture was dedicated in 1913. The gilded bronze figures atop the pylon represent Columbia Triumphant leading a seashell chariot of three seahorses. They are said to be cast from metal recovered from the guns of the Maine itself. The Monument is located in Central Park, NYC. The picture above was at it's dedication.

Winning fish will be verified ingame so keep fish until end of tourney.
Mounting a trophy fish will remove the datestamp.​

The first angler to weigh in a 200 stone -or- 1 stone fish will win a pirate fishing pole!



Every fish weighed in is eligible for the Fish Log Lotto!!!
A random number generator will be used to determine the winners based on when the angler turned in their fish.
For example, if an angler turned in the 15th fish and the generator produces a 15, that angler wins.

Rules:
* The tournament will be held Saturday, May 25th to Monday, May 27th, 2019. All fish weighed in must have a datestamp on or between those dates. (Note: datestamp is based on UO:R time, US Central, -5 UTC)
* Prizes will be distributed the following week.
* Fish weighed in will be credited to the angler, not who turns. Anyone can submit fish for any angler. Angler must be present to claim winnings.
* Use as many fishers as you like. Again, fish is credited to angler marked on fish. (some players use more than 1 fisher)
* An angler can only place 1 fish in biggest and smallest categories. For example, Fisher X might have a 10 stone and a 12 stone fish however only the 10 stone will be credited in the smallest category. In addition, Fisher X can also place in biggest with a 199 stone fish.
* No sign up required! Simply post a screen shot of your catch but keep it for prize reward and... DO NOT MOUNT FISH. Mounting a fish will erase datestamp. Fish will need to be verified ingame to collect your prize. Only fish weight will only be recorded. You keep your catch.
* Anglers tied will split the prizes of the two respective places. For example, Anglers tied for 2nd place will split the winnings for 2nd and 3rd place.

Notes on Fishing:
Double-click on a fishing pole, then click on a body of water. If successful, you will catch a fish. You might catch something more interesting than a fish. Success with this skill also depends on the availability of fish in that specific area.
0-65 - On land you will fish up Magic Fish, and Normal Fish.
80+ - Sea Serpents (No SoS Message), Special Fishing Nets.
90+ - Treasure Maps 100 - Messages in a Bottle (aka MIB) / Waterstained SoS Message
95+ - You can reel in Big Fish which can be used to make Trophies via Taxidermy Kits.
You can get to 100 skill/Grandmaster fishing from land. Once you have attained 95+ fishing, acquire a boat. They are player-made (check player vendors, forums, or IRC). You will need a boat to get offshore into deep water to catch Big Fish.

This will be my first time taking part in a fishing tournament. As always, I am running a setup thats a little outside the standard fishing box.

Pretty sure it started two hours ago, so here’s a FUCK YEAH and thanks Zyler who may or may not look like Steven Tyler. I rhymed incase there was some kind of rhyming bonus but real talk, let’s hope I can get one on the board. Appreciate the tournaments!


Fishing sucks incase there is a bonus for being mean

No luck so far, fishing for 1.5 hours and no big fish at all so far. Started off good with 4 serpents with nets, then nada for the last 45 minutes or so.
